“Must Know” Blues Intro’s & Outro’s /// Scott’s Bass Lessons
In this lesson you’re going to be learning some absolutely “must know” intro’s and outro’s over a common blues progression.
You’re going to learn:
– 4 ‘stock’ blues intro’s
– 5 ‘stock’ blues outro’s
– How to use parts of the original chord sequence for an intro
– How to cue the top of the song and NOT get stuck in the “one chord vamp trap”
– And heaps more as usual…
As always, see you in the shed…
Scott đ
PS. Remember, if you’re an Academy member you can also access the full TAB and notation for this lesson – along with the rest of the course.

i can't see
If you don't know this stuff, you're not a bluesman and definitely not a blues bassist. Outstanding lesson, Scott. The meat & potatoes
Another great lesson
Has this just been made public?
Scott I would really appreciate you doing a lesson this this walking blues, check out the link https://youtu.be/nSoOjv_l72Y
I donât have the finances to join to get the lessons. Could someone link me to some scales like this please
Thank you for this important video.

In a jam scenario in Texas you might hear somebody call a song and if you don't know it you might hear, "It's just a 12 bar, quick four with a church turnaround, and Sears and Roebuck ending, kicks in the five."
Is the "ow!" mandatory?
Amazing drummer as well. Great feeling there.
Wow, great job by Federico Malaman on guitar!
That p-bass sounds amazing
Thank you for the interactive three piece dynamics..You guys are in the pocket..
Its so helpful for me Thanks teacher.
Excellent! Such taken-for-granted stuff generally, for whatever the reason, whether that be available shed-time, playing experience, or lack of it etc. Really useful recap stuff for me, but great gear for all players to revisit, me thinks. Cheers Scott. You are always on point!
Lol! Maybe the "bread of the musical sandwich" ?!
Thanks Boys. Also realised how good the p-bass sits in… Cheers!
I'd like to know the guitar pedals
Nice lessons
That really help me, thanks Scott!!
Help me please, i'm playing in a power trio band, and i'm looking for some ways to fill the missing of a second guitar with my bass, like guitar solo moments, there is any way i could do that without spending much money in pedals?
I love how you guys seem to have fun even teaching
This was the best academy course ! In the blue variation, It would be nice to have explaination about how you constructed the chord progressions. I feel that I understand the sequence but I don't know the notes to play and the rythmic doesnt match with the shuffle with the grid 1 and a ! Hopefully a sequence soon and keep the good work !
Bom ti ta do rom do da rom, gof pa ram da lapidi dom P-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o. ka-ka-ka Grash!! That's what I do.
Hey Scott,,,,,what about ACDC their outs and ins are like 20 minutes long lol.
Nice!
Love it!
i got a better idea. Don't play blues. It's shit music, no one listens to it, real musicians regard it with contempt, and it's not the least bit useful and certainly not essential for a music education.
If some guitarist breaks into a 12 bar blues jam, it will the last time I ever play with him.
You could do stuff based of the melody too. Like for bullies bounce you could end sharp on that last f. You could tag too. Last two bars of blues for Alice then go 5 1. So many options. If you were playing Freddie freeloader you could just hold out that Ab7. I guess these songs are less bluesy than the ones you guys were playing
Oh golly that delay is serious haha. Love the video thanks!
Great lesson, thanks!
thanks scott
First version I know as "In on the 5"
I've seen many jam sessions and impromptu stuff (including regular scheduled bits) where the band/musicians didn't understand this… especially the outro's.
4:20 — That's the most important bit …" Aow!! "
Endless options with this stuff…
that was, fantastic! đ
this is awesome
Great as usual. Thanks Scott!
