Single coil pickup guitars can be so versatile, and John certainly knows how to take advantage of them, imagine all your tone is within the reach of your picking hand
I've loved the middle pickup on a Strat for about a couple of decades now. I've not really heard anybody describe the middle pickup on a Strat like this, but to me, it sounds kind of like a humbucker.

I have a 2020 Core Silver Sky and it's just such an amazing guitar. Was skeptical of the 7.25 radius neck, but remember, this is John Mayer and the PRS Team making the 7.25 neck the perfect neck for this guitar . They just got it right!
