Post-rock/doomgaze outfit This Will Destroy You, formed in San Marcos, Texas, in 2004, are marking 21 years together, and 20 years of their self-recorded debut Young Mountain, with an anniversary tour. In late June, the band played Nashville’s Basement East, where guitarists Jeremy Galindo and Nicholas Huft and bassist Ethan Billips met up with PG’s Chris Kies to share what gear they packed for the roadtrip.

Too, TOO bad there won't be new materials recorded under TWDY, TOO
This was awesome to get a glimpse into their tones ????
These guys put on one of the best shows I’ve ever been to in my life.
I actually interviewed TWDY just after this album came out for a now (long) defunct music website and one of my main points was the cinematic aspects of the band, so it's cool to see that referenced on this channel, some 20 years later.
What’s the song at 45:41 ??
next MONO please ?
Thank you so much Premier Guitar! I think this RR sounds most like the bands actual album than any other RR. Appreciate this one so much!
Pelican shirt interviewing TWDY is like my high school dream, hell yeah
I bought the boost rvb back in 2000 something after seeing a pic of it on their pedalboard ????
Jeremy is a sweet heart. Both of his sets at Post. Fest were fucking awesome
I'm a big fan of TWDY, and Jeremy's guitar work is a huge influence on me since Young Mountain.
Alright now let's get 'If These Trees Could Talk' on here!!!
That Tech 21 Boost R.V.B. pedal's price is about to fucking SKYROCKET!!! lmao To be fair they are currently in the $125 range on Reverb. Also a great plug for the budget Walrus line. lol.. imo that budget line exists purely because of JHS' $99 pedal line.
I FUCKING LOVE this band! and I LOVE Premier Guitar for this rig rundown!!!!!!!!!
I spoke to Nicholas on their recent UK tour and he was kind enough to show me his board, really nice guy, he had a few different pedals even then, found it remarkable how he got the sound from what is a relatively simple board.
THANK YOU ????
Major props/points for Jeremy rocking the Jimmy Gonzalez/Mazz shirt. Tejano Legend.
15 mins until we get to gear talk. Ain't nobody got time for that.
Absolutely one of the influences in my playing
I believe Spaceman 3 coined the phrase "taking drugs to make music to take drugs to.." It's a beautiful tradition.
Thanks for this PG.
These are really beautiful soundscapes….but the noise floor is horrific.
Thank you guys, that's my favorite band
Humble dudes. Cool episode.
Damn this is wild. I just saw them last night in Austin. I’ve literally been seeing them live for 20+ years. Raymond Brown (original bassist who is now a doctor) played with them. It was weird not seeing Chris King on stage but that’s a whole other story.
Also, a fun story, I saw the pop punk band a bunch of times back in the day.
Not familiar with these guys but still cool to watch, definitely got some cool gear and I love the JC-120 because those are such great amps and their chorus is just perfection (and immediate James Hetfield clean tones, which is why I love them)
Sorry, is this TWDY or the other TWDY?
Great band and interview. Regarding references, they forgot one of the best, Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Have to say You should make 2 videos. 1 With the intervju and 1 withe the rig rundorna. Now it's just unfocust.
Love their music!
I'd love to see a Kublai Khan rig rundown plz ????????????????????????
Anyone who brings Ligeti, JC 120s & Hd130s in a Rig Rundown interview = major W
TWDY all day every day!!
THANK YOU!! TWDY are amazing
Sitting down is so punk rock
Thank you for this! Just saw them at Post. Fest this past weekend, so this is a well-timed treat. Speaking of Post, I hope that Pelican shirt means an updated Pelican rundown is coming. They were also at Post and seemed to have made some rig updates worthy of a second video!
WHOA mega cool!!! Thanks for this!
One of the absolute best bands to do it!! Every note played feels intentional, nothing wasted in their songs. Thanks PG!
Always interesting to see bands I don’t usually listen to featured.
Really honored to bring This Will Destroy You into the Rig Rundown fold. I'm a huge post-rock/instrumental-music fan and TWDY delivered impactful, influential, captivating compositions that I revisit on a regular basis. Enjoy!!
Love this band so much!
