With Bobby Whitlock I would use an ep3 Echoplex set up with a long delay similar to this to mimic a reverb. Into a Tweed Princeton clone it had an insane tone. (SG with super overwound Duane style pickups as well)
What are the effect used can please anyone tell me
So good. Love to use this type of sounds. I use the Dawner Prince Boonar
Delay & chorus. Please train your ears
Sounds incredible ❤
Can the EC-1 do this?
I run my UA Starlight in a similar fashion where the tape delay sits nicely in the mix as if it were a reverb.
MARTY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!?!?! YOU WERE SO YOUNG YESTERDAY!
Marty?!?
I thought that was old Marty at first from martymusic
Wholy ** I could have sworn that was Marty Schwartz! But then he spoke British! ????
El capistan has spring rever built in on a secondary knob
What episode was this?
If it sounds like reverb, then, well. What’s the point? And reverb, in a good amp, does not change the guitar’s basic tone. This tone is completely different than the dry signal.
Basically its haas effect
The heck, how did they age independently of eachother 10-20 years apart. ????
Yeah but where's the punchline
Great pedals don't make a great player
Sounds great! Love your show! I could watch for hours ????
El Cap V1 has spring reverb in it as a hidden parameter that you access by holding down the left switch and turning the mix knob. So this is literally reverb.
isn't Reverb made from micro-Delays,,,?
The el cap with a twist of spring reverb is one of the best sounds known to humankind
Sounds like chorus to me
El Cap, Big Sky, Timeline, and Flint…four of greatest pedals ever made.
It’s incredible that there’s new pedal companies coming out all the time who make pedals that don’t do anything different than pedals which have been around for decades and decades. How do they manage to even make money selling overdrives and choruses and shit?
Beautiful
I dont like too much delay or too much reverb. I think there comes a point where a Guitar sound can become unatural. And it doesn't sound good to my ears. I like ACDC's sound and they dont use lots of distortion or effects they just turn up the amp and drive the tubes.
Wish the Svpre was still available
Side note: i really like the melody. What chords are they playing
Marty Schwartz aged quick
Tremolo is reverb
One of your best episodes dudes. Thank you strymon for coming out with a new el cap, but I will keep what I got.
Who that the English Marty Schwartz
Fantastic piece of kit.
Seriously considering upgrading my Deco v1 to the new v2. My Keeley Halo has me covered for the Timmons "I can't believe it's not reverb" thing!
Oh, damn. Nice work on clipping 16:9 for 9:16. I've yet to really get a handle on this on my channels.
I love how you often so clearly demonstrate whats going in. I know this one is a quick demo without explanation…but your “episodes” or full videos invariably discuss the “why” of things, and its extremely illuminating. -Even concepts I basically understand end up with new clarity when clear descriptions and verbal connections are made. Bravo in general, and bravo also to revealing snippets like this. ????????
Chorus is reverb
They sounds so good these Strymon pedals, and I would have bought a V1 now if not for buying the Keeley Halo a month ago. I just love it. Makes me enjoy my guitar playing, even though I'm just a novice. Nice tone coverup. I know it doesn't have reverb, but I just add a 2 secs plate reverb from my reverb pedal. It works just fine. Like a warm blanket.
