  • I pretty much 100% agree with this list, but I’ve got my own favorite song for very personal reasons, but I also a big fan of ‘Bobby Sox.’ No particular reason, just like it.

  • My list in my opinion:
1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours – Green Day (a great energetic, melodically great).
Kerplunk! – No One Knows (great bassline and great lyrics and sad yet awesome)
Dookie – She (I am kind of growing out of the rest of Dookie)
Insomniac – Westbound Sign (it’s nostalgic to me due to it appear in the cars 1 teaser trailer 2005)
Nimrod – Haushinka (amazing Melodie’s, especially the bridge)
Warning – Castaway (great riff, amazing tempo, it takes you to a journey like your in a car drive, and great melody too)
Shenanigans – Desensitised (a great melody and it goes hard, like how Mike swings hard with a baseball bat in the intro, and it is kind of relatable in the lyric side, as we’re so used to stuff that goes on TV or media in general, that we just don’t care anymore)
American Idiot – Whatsername (one of the most best emotional in Green Day’s discography, and it has one of the best bridges of all time, plus it makes me tear up)
21rst Century Breakdown – ….ok, it is tied between 21rst Century Breakdown (it is such a great opener as the Melodie’s and lyrics are powerful..even if I don’t relate to it, this song kinda goes hard) or ¡Viva La Gloria! (Little Girl) (it used to be my favourite green day song because of the best melodic bridge section’s, besides Ashley and Haushinka and Whatsername and etc.) or Restless Heart Syndrome (like you’ve mentioned, it has a killer guitar solo, and it goes from a nice sounding yet dark acoustic song to a heavier, almost a metal track due to that amazing solo)
UNO! – Kill The DJ! (I find this song to be danceable and it also has one of the best bridges in the history of not just Green Dya but music in general, as it feels like it belongs in a chase scene of some sorts or a movie trailer, if the song was heavier)
DOS! – Ashley (even though the chorus feels basic, the rest of the song is amazing, with a killer guitar solo and great lyrics about past drug addictions, amazing Melodie’s and one of the best pre-chorus’s I’ve ever heard)
TRE! – it’s between The Forgotten (it’s a great piano piece, and one of the best closers of an album I’ve ever heard) or X-Kid (it has a great lyrical theme about talking about a friend of Billie’s and Gen X, along with great melody’s) for me, hell I don’t even know what my favourite TRE song is….
Rev Rad – for me, it goes between Say Goodbye (the song goes hard and has really great lyrics, and also a heavy Outro) or Still Breathing (very uplifting yet it gives me chills and sometimes tears, mostly in the bridge, plus the melody is great) or Troubled Times (it has great melody and it also has a homage to Led Zeppelin’s Stairway Ot Heaven if you listen to the back vocals in the chorus.., plus the song is extremely relevant and has a great theme to it..)
Father Of All – unpopular opinion….it goes to Junkies On A High (yeah the lyrics may not be 100% great, but it has a nice flow, Mike’s bass is good and the post-chorus is huge when Billie songs “as we watch the world burn”)
Saviors – in the regular edition.. it goes to either Bobby Sox (for great lyrics and great melody’s and a nice message…even if I’m not gay, which I can get a bit uncomfortable when it sings the “boyfriend” part which by the way I’m not homophobic, I’m just straight, I still love that song) or Suzie Chapstick (despite weird lyrics like the words “instagram” mentioned in it, it is a nice amazing song with great acoustic work and great melody’s and it gives you a feeling of loneliness a bit) or Living In The 20’s (in a short amount of runtime, the song manages to pack all the anger in the mailbox and it hits you powerfully, lyrically it is great and a bit funny…heh heh it’s that robot part, and it has a great melody In the chorus, and it feels like an anthem of some sorts and gives the feeling of desperation to it), and for the deluxe edition, it goes to Stay Young (mainly because the songs message is great, even if the chorus lyrics are a bit repetitive, it has a great melody, and it has a great flow in my opinion).

  • I'll see if I agree or disagree.

Going to Pasalacqua: FUUUUCK YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH! This is in my opinion a perfect song that absolutely made them go big, and it's so much fun!

80: This one is pretty good, and it's serviceable if you wanna say it's the best. A lot of it reminds me of the chords and vocals for When I Come Around. While I do think 2000 LYA and OFTR are infinitely better and the best on Kerplunk, this is a good one to pick.

When I Come Around: I figured this would be here if 80 is here. It's a good solid song, but other songs are done much better.

Stuart and the Ave: This one is good. I feel like you could take almost any song from Insom and you could call it the best one. Not really any strong opinion on this.

Redundant: This one often gets labeled the best and I completely understand. It's one of the best composed slow jams I've heard by them, and while idk if it's the best, it's certainly really good.

Macy's Day Parade: This one is also really good for a slow jam. Same thoughts as Redundant, but I still think Minority is the defining song of that album.

Holiday: This is another situation where you could pick almost any song on AI. It's certainly a high point as most of the album is anyway, but idk about the best when Jesus of Suburbia exists, or even the title track based on my bias.

Restless Heart Syndrome: Here we go again with another amazing slow jam song. It's beautifully orchestrated and arranged. I love how it evokes that downer feeling of being your own worst enemy. I prefer Viva La Gloria or Peacemaker over it, but it's still a SUPER good pick.

Nuclear Family: Yeah, it was either that, Let Yourself Go, Rusty James, or Angel Blue. Not much to say here.

Lazy Bones: I don't think this song stands out that much compared to the rest of Dos, but I can understand why someone would pick this. Stray Heart is infinitely better.

X-Kid: Yup. It's between that and DRB. 'Nuff said.

Bang Bang: Hell yeah, this is my favorite song off Rev Rad, and it has the best energy compared to every song. This is one of the songs where the production actually helps (same with Forever Now), and it makes it more exciting.

Father of All: I absolutely hate the vocal performances on this. Then again, FOA is a bad album, so I shouldn't be too surprised by anything from it.

Dilemma: This one is really good, and it feels like a good sequel to Whatsername with how it sounds. It's a perfect pick that I could see coming from a mile away.

    My picks per album:
    Format: Objective Best / Favorite

39/Smooth: Going to Pasalacqua / Going to Pasalacqua
Kerplunk: One for the Razorbacks / 2000 Light Years Away
    Dookie: Burnout / Basket Case
Insomniac: Stuck With Me / Stuck With Me
Nimrod: Nice Guys Finish Last (or Scattered) / Good Riddance
    Warning: Minority / Minority
American Idiot: Jesus of Suburbia / American Idiot
21CB: Viva La Gloria / Viva La Gloria
Uno: Nuclear Family / Let Yourself Go
Dos: Stray Heart / Stray Heart
Tre: X-Kid / Dirty Rotten Bastards
Rev Rad: Bang Bang / Bang Bang
Father of All: Sugar Youth / Sugar Youth
Saviors: Dilemma / Look Ma, No Brains!

  • Well that sure was a surprise because it came in just in time for my dinner, Corn Pops, thanks a lot!

Tbh 80 and lazy bones are proly among the most underrated tracks in GD discography, I love those songs so much!

80 has everything you could ask for a GD song, it has a pretty epic guitar, playful and melodic basslines, and completely crazy drums, all of that being pretty well written and constructed.

Lazy bones on the other hand is a more introspective and nostalgic take on GD's music, love how they talked about depression in a pretty raw but also honest way and the overall instrumentation helps to this.

Hope you get better soon if you're feeling sick, rest is important and once again, do not feel worried about meeting uploading-videos expectations, just do what you like and you feel like doing, because burnout is pretty nasty I've lived it and it's not cool at all, make sure to take a rest when needed, because our own happiness is our main priority (under legal and morally correct circumstances lmao), so don't worry, take a rest if needed if you're going through a burnout, rest is important and we'll be here forever, don't worry, be happy!
