Dang I’m an old crabby guy. I think everything should be solid wood like Washburn d10s for $199 like it was in 99. I can’t fathom the Laminate stuff for more than $99. It’s amazing how much things change.
The thing that’s putting me off about getting one of these is the pickup. Those Fishman Sonictones are known not to be that great, with just one tone control. And am I correct that in order to change the battery you need to loosen the strings, stick your hand in the sound hole and pull the battery out? Whose great idea was that? I know – replace the battery when you change your strings. Not always the most practical solution in the real world.
I don't know if it buy this one, or gs mini or some academy, I don't have any option to try it. I want to learn at home. Not more.
Just bought one can't wait to get it.

A real Taylor guitar for $500 dollars new is pretty much unbeatable. The only other guitar that comes to mind for me is the Yamaha FGX830C for $599. That guitar doesn't come with a gig bag though, and of course it just doesn't have that Taylor name we all know and love.

What??? That price is insane. My first Epiphone (11 years ago) cost me more than that. It was a baseball bat with strings and multi laminate wood with pretty bad finishing work. This is shocking. I thought the AD was about as low in price as Taylor would go. Something below academy is shocking.

I really appreciate you guys amazing videos like this, but I think that it’s important to mention that some people have had a lot of problems with that in particular neck seated the same way as the baby Taylor. So to say that nobody has any problems with these things is not fair. You should say some people have problems with them.I love Taylor guitars truly have a wonderful day.

I think the most affordable brand is Sigma you can get soild top under $400 and all soild around $1000. Good for Taylor users if they got some $4xx full sized guitar as secondary guitar.
What is the nut size?
Playability? Tunability? Impressions of build quality?
Last time I heard Mexico is NOT the United States. That makes it an import. You may know about guitars. But don't know much about international commerce. Taylor makes their money in the USA. But they support Mexican economy. Which is not a problem for them. Because the hourly wage in Mexico is around $8 an hour. Gee, why do you think they make them there?

I have a similar Taylor and it was 1200$ canadian about 13 years ago. Great guitar. But that's a great price.
Why did Taylor get rid of the American Dream series?
If they had the arm rest like the Academy's I'd be all over it. I have a torn rotator cuff and the angle on my 814CE is just wrong. Can't play it more than 10 minutes… I'll keep gigging with my A10e LTD.

Taylor just keeps raising the bar. Or so it seems to me. I’m a Taylor fan. I have six of them. But besides the two GS-Minis, the other four are grand concert 12 fretters. I think this is going to be a huge hit!

Fishman Sonitone is not a great pick up. It is Quacky sounding trash. It is absolutely a dealbreaker.
