  • I have an upper mid level Ibanez made in Korea and a Fender Mexico P Bass. P bass feels like a chinese starter after feeling the quality of Ibanez.

  • My favorite part of this review is when you admit to breaking the volume controls yourself and then go on to criticize the bass for a situation you created. Should have just paid a professional to swap out the part for you or learned what allen wrenches are and bought a set.

  • I have a TMB300, the previous version with the double-J pickup, and I also prefer the EQ flat. The pickups are passive, so I wish there was an easy and temporary way to bypass the active preamp, and thus, not have to always use 9v batteries. I don't know when it will happen, but my goal is to acquire a Sterling short scale Stingray because it's completely passive and smaller.

  • This bass also looks like a cool modding platform as it is the only lefty Talman bass that Ibanez produces

  • You have one of the coolest Bass Talman builds i’ve ever come across. I prefer OEM parts when it comes to my tools & instruments, but my TMB’s have become great canvas’ for some pretty simple builds. if you prefer Mahogany bodies or Rosewood fingerboards. You might fancy an earlier model for an Indonesian neck or body ????

  • I don`t understand why you had that issue removing the knobs. I changed my TMB100 into passive electronics and was able to remove everything smoothly, the knobs are adjustable by using an allen key.

  • I just bought one of these and I agree with every one of his points – great review – the treble and bass boost are pretty much useless to me – I keep them flat – I almost always use the P pickup – the J sounds really thin to me. Having said that – its a great bass for the money – As a guitar player now playing bass in a band, its perfect for me.

  • I think these are a nice step up from the Squier Bronco for an occasional or beginner bassist, or someone that just wants a short scale.

  • I think I'm going to pick this up. I plan to replace the pickguard and if i don't like the pickups, i might take your idea and go for the Seymour Duncan P&J's. From what I can tell from videos, I do like the sound for the most part, but it's maybe just slightly off from what I'm looking for? I'll have to see in person to find out. After watching this, I'm also slightly concerned about how it's going to feel near the lower frets. Thanks, and wish me luck. ????

  • Just got one for 125$ on layaway, for a buddy who records at home… its more expensive than his electric, so I’m hoping it makes a good Christmas gift! He appreciates a versatile instrument for digital recording
