  • I just heard this song a couple of days ago and can't stop listening to it

  • I’m so glad this was your first introduction to Alter Bridge. This really showcases how powerful they are. You should check out their song “Fortress” from this same concert. Really freaking killer performance.

  • Opened this up on my phone and your video description cuts off at “in depth anal…”. Hey, I’m in ????‍♂️ ????

  • After Myles hits that note at the end, Mark Tremonti just looks over and smiles like yup, I picked the right guy. Been an AB fan since 2004 when I heard “Open Your Eyes” on Sirius Satellite Radio. That first album is still my favorite. “In Loving Memory” can still tear me up today.

  • I saw them in Dallas. Brian had the flu and was getting sick behind his amp. Sweating profusely. They were amazing.

  • Take the worst thing that could ever happen to a person and turn it into a tribute. Then you've got "Blackbird". Pay close attention to all the other requests for this song because it truly is subjectively one of the most heart-wrenching rock songs both (especially) lyrically and melodically written so far this century. We're not kidding… It really is that special.

Just put a box of Kleenex off camera and you'll be fine… well, mostly fine. Personally, it still can bring me to tears even after all these years and countless listens. It's a song that, once heard, can not be forgotten. I've subbed on the off chance you decide to react to Blackbird, just pick Amsterdam or RAH. This is a once in a lifetime song and it will affect you profoundly.

Edit: Make sure you have the lyrics up on another monitor. They are that important (Don't worry about us… we already know them verbatim).

  • One song that i would love to see someone do a vocal analysis of is 'the ponytail parades' by emery, especially the live acoustic version with the full band. You will not be disappointed

  • I have always thought that not enough people appreciate Brian Marshall's bass skills. He has just a fantastic rhythm and adds so much to the songs that its nice to hear someone else notice!

  • Two friends, one strong in faith (Christian), the other struggling with faith (Agnostic).
Absolutely amazing. Not preachy, but hopeful.

  • It's great seeing people see this for the first time, when you know what's coming at the end <3

  • Imagine you are recording that for an album and DVD and you DON'T nail that note? LOL talk about pressure.

  • Myles Kennedy isn't just an excellent vocalist but also an insanely skilled guitar player.
The guy gave both Mark Tremonti & Slash guitar lessons.
And Mark Tremonti has a side project where he covers Frank Sinatra songs. The whole thing is in fact a charity project to support families with children that have Down Syndrome.
( Tremonti's youngest daughter was born with Down Syndrome. )
And yeah, Brian & Flip deserve more love, they're the backbone of the band.

  • I still remember hearing the album version of this song for the first time. It gave me chills. To the day, it still does. The sheer talent in this band is almost beyond words. There is no other voice likes Myles' and it was so fun listening to Mark come into his own as a vocalist. Brian and Scott's rhythm work is on it's own level. While I've moved away from listening to Alter Bridge and rock in general (more Americana and power pop nowadays), I still absolutely respect these guys as musicians. I come back to these albums every once in a while and it is always a joy. Check out Myles' work with Slash and Mark's solo work.
