If the natural sound coming from emulation is sufficient, why would someone need an expensive acoustic guitar? You could use an electric guitar with an acoustic emulation pedal to achieve the same results.
American sounds wayyyy better.
No one ever plays it not plugged into a amp.
Personally I liked the sound of the cheaper one.
I'd say neither? Just get a much cheaper, genuine acoustic guitar.
By far the money on those guitars translate in an improvement in quality. The tone on the american acoustasonic is perfect!
standard..
What about a Mexican one?
For live gigging the USA made would be fine. That piezo on the standard just isn't great. For recording you still would want a real acoustic guitar.
I've been using the American version for around 5 years, gigging regularly, it's paid for itself comfortably.
On you tube on a phone it’s too hard to hear the intricacies you hear playing it. To my ears the second one sounds less natural. Like you EQ’d it to death.
both sound crappy. just get an acoustic for a 1000 and an electric for 1000.
Bet my regular Taylor acoustic is lighter than both of them.
The Standard definitely seems more than passable tonally, and I think it looks slightly better than the American. I also strongly prefer the user-replaceable (9V) battery of the Standard models. Thanks for the demo!
Sounds like someone spent way too much money on acoustosonics ????????
I don’t like neither of them
And you did not compare the electric sounds. You only did the acoustic on both. Maybe you should have done what yiu said you were going to do and actually compare both sounds
Pay hundreds more for fake sound from some $20 chip.
Keren.????????????
Yes, the first 2 positions on the American are modeled. But position 3 A on the American is actually using an under saddle piezo. Position 3 B adds the body sensor as well. Try your comparison in that position. I bet they are identical.
The cheaper one sounded fuller to me.
Just put the basic through modelling kit if you want.
Sounds like a huge difference to me and totally worth it! ????
acoustasonic jazzmaster us build is the best
The more expensive guitar sounds way better. I like the $600 guitar, in a vacuum, but I couldn’t buy it knowing the $2K guitar was out there.
What happened to electric vs electric ? The American is brighter sounding. But I actually prefer the tone of the cheaper guitar.
Standard is filling the room.❤
HUGE difference
Curious, can you change the pup in the import?
Imagine putting so much effort into very decent aesthetics/features of do-it-all electro acoustics with a wide price range between the two models, and then hear how a 10 year old Yamaha SLG200S still sounds so much better as an acoustic in SRT mode.
I’m in the market right now and I’m really glad I saw this video… Looks like I’ll be going for the expensive one… The standard one sounds like the sad cheap guitar that I’ve had for years????❤️ I’m done trying to EQ to get tone out of an acoustic guitar plus the electric is thrown in!
I bought the USA version when they first came out. I much prefer the Fender Highway Dread I have now. Blows the Acoustasonic out of the water in tone (doesn't have that piezo buzz sound) and volume un-plugged is much louder.
I like the sound of the cheaper one better. Maybe I have a bad ear…
Both sound dreadful acoustically
The standard would work just fine, plus you could put it through modeler and emulate an acoustic that way; it’s a better bang for the buck
Why does the standard sound so much worse than the American?
Same thing
Both sound awesome but the constant camera moving around and you can't stand still like you are on something I can't stand to watch this video sorry ☹️????????
Take the cash and buy real instruments
Strum harder
Just what I was wondering … Tell you the truth, I prefer the sound of the Standard. Thinking in fact of selling my Taylor T5z and trading it in for one of these …
I would buy the $600 one and do some mods to it so it can sound clean instead of muffled.
599 sounds amazing and deep
Depends. If you’re live or jamming, $600. Recording in studio? $2k. ????????
So you’re paying more than double for fake sound, or you save money and get horrid “acoustic” sound. Just get a good, used Martin D18, a good quality pick up for it, if it didn’t come with one, and be done with it. You’d probably still have some money left vs the American fake sound guitar too.
The standard holds up extremely well. I'm an in house ONLY, loner player. Very limited ability, obsessed with the LOOK of this model of guitar. I WON'T consider the Mia. But the mim? You betcha! I'm intrigued.
Why spend 2k on a useless piece of junk when you can spend 600
