Fender Mustang II: 40 watts of classic guitar amps with effects
This is the third Fender Fender Mustang amp that I have reviewed. It lives up to expectations with a range of fat, rich sounds and an entertaining sett of built-in effects. It’s also amazingly light and an all-round excellent package.

What is the price of this equipment?
Horrible sounding! Yes..I have owned several cheap and high dollar fender amps. Never again. Get a Katana MK2 50w.
I recently bought one of these at a garage sale. Haven't had time to toy with it yet.
Do these sound good for rock and metal, does it have good distortion compared to marshalls
It seems to me that this amplifier is not for metal music, it does not have a strong enough distortion?
Line 6 has far better distortion.
WILL IT CHUG ????
Man that sounds incredibly smooth
It's not apparent through the speaker but one of those delay, effects is a stereo delay. I found this out the first time I used my headphones to practice. Talk about shocked! Lol
I prefer the layout on this to my Gt40.
Thanks for the basic run-down. It is one of many reviews of these Mustang modelling amps that demo the on-amp controls. As an owner of two of them, I'd say the operation of the amp's controls is pretty self evident. Twiddle the knobs – 'suck-it-n-see'.
The amps were designed to give of their best with Fuse. Using Fuse you can see exactly what's available and how to dial it in. And it has extras such as options for speaker cabs.
What is needed now – despite Fender dropping support for it – is a detailed look at how to use these amps with the bundled Fuse s/ware. Fuse is still obtainable and still works.
Now that Fender has dumped support for Fuse, the online 'Media Library' has gone, tho' there are 3rd party archives available, saved before Fender dropped Fuse. For example, YT channel "In The Blues" has a downloadable library of some 9000 settings, which he acquired from many sources online. I have downloaded this archive but don't know how to access/load it into my amp Media Library [not to be confused with the now defunct Fender Fuse website Media Library].
There must be many owners of these amps – the three models which came with Fuse – who are, like me, less than well clued-up on how to deal with a setting once you've dialled up a keeper. This is the USP of the Mustang/Fuse range.
The great thing about Fuse was its WYSIWYG nature. Accessing the effects is pretty self-evident – no more difficult than operating the controls on the actual amp. The bit that nobody has really dealt with is the save/library aspect. Another video, concentrating on the saving and library-building aspects of the amp and Fuse would be very helpful.
I know I'm a little late to this video, but I just got one of these! It's a lot of fun, easy to use, and has some pretty good tones. If course mine was 2nd-hand, but for $70, you can't beat it! Great little amp-my favorite thing on the amp: the tempo tap! Love that British 80's style tone!
it can use pedals right?
Has the enough volume to be played whit a drummer?
I mostly play metal. This doesn't look for it. Clean sounds not for me. Wat wud u suggest
Mine is now a cab.
sounds digital
How would I connect the amp to my PC to record what I play?
SO SHWEEEETTT…much love Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO.[the music worldwide}
what we hear from this 'you tube video'
sounds very different to the amp in the room. this recording is not a true representation of the amp. the amp will sound a lot better than this when its in front of you.
can u notice much difference in tone between the 1 & 2 mustang?
Question: what if I want to use a pedal board with this amp? Is it possible to cancel the presets to a flat/clean
sound?
Very sterile sound.
Since there is no mids on the amp can you play with this amp live with other instruments being played such as bass , drums and another guitarists
Great tones , I have the mustang 1 and I'm pretty happy with it !
Hey, good work
