  • The reason they use 8's or 9's is for beginners they feel are the ones that buy these less expensive guitars ???? $$

  • You have nothing to apologize for. You did say you weren't a Les Paul man.

    Fine review.

    I have a cherry red FF388 coming tomorrow. I can't wait.

  • Be honest, you’re not convincing me
    You hate the damn thing
Admit it I don’t blame you
Bus falls are one trick pony
They look nice they’re beautiful, but they’re heavy. They’re very overpriced.

You know what my main Guitar is a Franken Strat elder body CTS pots fender, lacking tuners bone nut 12 inch radius, squire neck, JB bucker it screams stays in tone play anything on it. It screams I’ll put that up against any Guitar that’s 12 $1400 in that same category. It’s a budget Charvel.

  • Interesting P 90 are traditionally very popular. They clean up very well. They dirty very very well and have more of a dynamic range than a humbucker you say you play with Guitar well, I will tell you a decent P90 Guitar will cut through a mix and put you on top a lot easier than a home marker trust me

  • Jayce, for the little saddle adjustment screw on your FIREFLY, I suggest putting a medium-strength "thread locker" glue on the threads and then screwing them back into the desired position. The high-strength threadlockers are permanent, but the medium strength will still allow you to adjust them if you need to someday. You do not want to lose those little guys. ????????

  • I use the vibrato a lot….i mean a lot it’s the method I use to tune the instrument. This will cause the saddle screws to become loose mostly on the outer screws and more dominantly on the low even. Then of it like a bench with metal bolts anchored to the ground every time you dive you are releasing tension then suddenly applying it same as bouncing the bench up and down over and over…eventually the bolts work themselves loose. Newton’s third law.

  • Hi how is the playability….? Any fret buzz at low action or stiff string tension or soft tension?

  • I have a few Harley Bentons, and I love them! Very good quality guitars at a very competitive price!

  • I just got a SG relic and ive been playing it so much, straight out the box it was good to go, all I did was change the strings and ive been jamming with it since. Ive been playing it over my $1200 Adam Jones Les Paul even though thats my baby I tend to be more cautions with that one and keep it in the case at all times while with my new Firefly I dont have to worry about it getting bump'd and scratched, its already relic'd and it plays great! love my first Firefly and will definitely be buying more!

  • 2:55 Lots of people make the volume knob error. No big deal.
I do wish you would have played the guitar a little bit more, and I think the dirty sounds just did not sound very good.
If maybe you could balance out talking and playing a little bit more I think that would be great. I come to hear what you have to say but especially to hear the guitar you're reviewing.
I thought it was a good review otherwise thank you.

  • I bought a FireFly for the first time recently. It's an LP shape with an Explorer-esq headstock. It has a couple of tiny blemishes, but overall, it's a good looking, playing and sounding guitar for $226 all in.

  • Aloha, I have a 2020 Firefly FFLP Classic & luv it, triple double opencoil pickups & it's ' blueberry burst ' ????????

  • It's just my opinion but I think buying a relic'd guitar makes about as much sense as letting someone sleep with your girlfriend before you marry her…

  • I have a few fireflies. They're great. As well as a Epiphone SG. Screws are an issue on all. Drop some glue in the screw holes. Instant fix

  • Run a cheap guitar over a PLEK and replace the control electronics with the regular MIA branded parts for durability/reliability and they can all be great guitars to play. I've reworked "horrible 60s/70s/80s cheap import guitars" and that is always the situation (I use a Vinson fret leveling jig). The reason modern brands don't spend money on that final step of the builds was to differentiate model price points. Hard playing beginner guitars, easy playing expensive guitars. They forgot that if they make an easy playing inexpensive guitar a new player will stick with playing and buy a fleet of guitars, a hard playing guitar drives them back to video games where level one is easy and the skill slowly builds to level ten. A few modern guitar brands finally understand that dynamic and are improving their base model playability.

  • I had a FireFLy Les Paul Custom for a few years around 2004. It was a great playing guitar. I did change the pickups though.

  • I have a Jet strat the 400 model in white with a roasted maple neck with a wonderful fretboard.
I believe it's the same guitar manufacturer as your firefly

  • If you are old, you know what is now great with guitars. My first electric was a $69 dollar Sears Korean made SG. Koreans and Japanese and Indonesian guitars are great today, not so much in 1977. I am old (59) and have some US built Fenders, Ibanez Prestige, lots of Korean and Indonesian and lots of fireflys and other super budgets…… Wholly smokes. All are so much better than 20 to 30 years ago. The main thing you should understand, the guitar will most likely not be the limiting factor of your shredding prowess.
