  • I’ll take the way Shawn “shreads” over that metal shread stuff every time. One has feel and emotion while the other has…… notes.

  • Sweet fly rig Shawn… looking in the background I think you have another potential fly rigor to back there!

  • Mike Landau uses Fender Fat 50's on his Strat which by the way are horrible sounding in my opinion but then again to each his own. I don't like them and that's the problem with Pups watching a demo is just about useless and if you put them in your guitar you can't send them back that's why I like Thomann they give you a 30 day no frills money back guarantee.

  • Shawn, really great as usual. Do you use the Dude pedal as well or can the stacked 45/Lenny get you close enough.?

  • This video is one I watched most out of all your videos, playing and tone are 2nd to NONE! Could I ask, are you running tremolo into Reverb or Reverb into Tremolo?

  • Lol I’ve literally been contemplating this exact J Rockett setup. Would the Blue Note also work well for a low gain bridge pickup tone? I’ve heard it’s similar to a Morning Glory.

Also it seems the 45 would work well for a similar 1st gain stage position too…

  • every tone was perfect..enviable…well thought out…love the idea of as different pedal for the front and back pick ups…gonna try that today

  • Hey Shawn! I know you've updated to the Chime MKII. But can you discuss the settings on the Chime when you used it as an "always on" clean sound. It's hard to see the knobs on the pedal and it sounds great!

  • Wow, nice to meet you Shawn.. Nice playing…Amazing taste and flavor in your choice of notes…Subscribed 4sure

  • Mann, my Classic Antique H/S/S DOES NOT sound like that. It is WAY woolier than these sounds with pretty much any pedal, any setting. I know I know YouTubers….the sound is in the hands. And I DO believe that. But the Suhr that I bought (no pressure Shawn…that I bought new because of the sounds that YOU get in THIS particular video) just does not come close to the sounds on this clip, in clarity, brightness and staccato tightness. It sounds good. But it does not sound anything like this.
Once again Shawn, your playing just amazes me.

And please, do yourself a favor and steer clear of that Cali 76 compact compressor. LoL

  • Heisenberg is getting an insanely great tone with the Blue Note/Strat Neck Pup setting. Now, what have you done with Shawn Tubbs?! ???? All BS aside, that Blue Note does something that is just glorious when it’s sitting between a Strat and an amp. I’m assuming you have the HOT switch engaged so maybe its that low-mid bump catching my ear ????

  • Loved the vid! Question: why do you not use the compressor as much? A lot of guitarists I know use it to add some flavor to their clean sound

  • Hey shawn, thanks for always being a great inspiration to many! How do you run your chime for always on?

  • Shawn, that piece you played at 8:30 while demonstrating the delay settings was so beautiful! Your playing is an inspiration. Thank you.

  • let me start by saying I appreciate your great videos my question is in your opinion what would be the best preamp pedal to use with the two notes cab M? I play mainly Gospel And R&B so I'm looking for that clean Strat sound and that classic 80's lead thanks in advance

  • I really hate that I'm late to the party on Shawn! You are just a tasty player! Love all your playing and your touch is that of a true seasoned musician. I also saw you are playing the exact guitar I have, but was so blown away by your touch, that it truly inspired me to want to get better. Thank you!!

  • Funny I have the timeline too. After experimenting with it the first two months and wasting a lot of time instead of playing, i settled on a couple of presets and that's it. Kind of expensive for just that but it sounds good.

  • Awesome pedal demo on the J Rockett's. I'm currently using a Cochran Timmy and Fulltone CME OCD and Strymon Sunset. I love what you're getting out of the J Rockett's and decided to go for now with all three. Love noodling around with OD's. I often tend to stack two OD's so this was great to see you pair the 45 with the GTO. Reviewed several of your other video's as well. I also use the Strymon Flint and BigSky and Timeline, a compressor. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to post this video and others.

  • So Shawn… Excellent demos and inspiration! This board is so simple I cant wrap my head around it! I love it! You are staying in a specific genre and this board is for that genre correct? Or is it more versatile than I am thinking?
You are NOT stacking the drives correct? Each is set for its own purpose and pickup as you explained? And I am sure you run the Ego "always on" ? Thanks man! Keep the videos coming!!!

  • Hi Shawn, really instructive your videos and your style is really inspiring (you'd be amazed how many people actually download your videos to practice your licks and try to figure out your style). What I would really like is if you would be able to make a video on sophisticated use of the delay. Delay is kind of a subtle science, really a lot is possible especially with a pedal like the timeline, but in the beginning you need a bit of guidance on what type of dealy works where and where not. I think you could easily fill a very interesting video with it. I don't know if it somehow fits in your plans but I for sure would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch for all the good stuff I already got from you, take care!

  • Great video and super practical board. Your tones and playing are always on point. Is that the 14" or 16" wide shelf?
