I have a $200 Hondo II precision bass made in Korea in 1975 it rocks with MAXON pickups!
When I first started playing 30+ years ago, I was in the music store, talking about my cheap gear with some embarrassment. There was an old, very talented guy in there who gave me advice. He said, "Son, the number one factor contributing to your sound is YOU. Play clean, experiment with that gear, and you will sound fine." I have never forgotten that advice, lived by it, and have passed it to many others.
Enjoyed your review and glad to see the bass has longevity. I just ordered the Strat guitar by Glarry and have a bass on Amazon cart. I chose the Ibenez copy as my first but like you said, at these prices the main limiting factor is having enough room.
Only issue. Strings are to high off the. Frets and stock strings not impressive it's a starter guitar
Thank you man for reviewing those, those basses are still out there, it's glary it's irin, it's hk, fox pro whatever, all of them made on the same factory.
Good and interesting review bro. Thanks for that! ????
Bro I’m so happy I came across your page I been playing da guitar since last November . I’m left handed playing a right handed acoustic guitar. I been looking to see what’s the best bass I could get to start with
The black hardware looks dope!
Bully….. Love your channel, and all that you do!! I'm 75 years "young" and have Not played bass since I was 18. I'm just now wanting to get back to it, and already have a couple of Basses… a Short Scale Music Man and a long scale Ibanez 5 string. I've really been wanting try a FRETLESS (4 or 5 string)…. Some folks say that it takes a LOT More discipline to practice and "stay on top of" a Fretless…… what are your thoughts on that??….. IF, you have a Fretless, yourself… or, have played one at one time or other. The Glarry basses certainly are affordable, and depending on your (or, anyone reading this) thoughts regarding fretless… I will definitely get a Glarry Fretless to try, without having to put a lot of money into it, and if I like it… I will have lots of room to upgrade it and still not have a lot into it. Thank you in advance for your reply… I greatly appreciate it.
Me, I love a good weighty old school chunky neck fender style electric bass, since that's what Leo Fender called it ( electric bass), that's for me.
Thanks for your honesty. I am a Disabled Veteran and all Ii want to do is learn.
It all sounds cuppish maybe mic I don’t know.
Because of your video I decided on the Glarry Bass as I am just beginning my interest in Bass!!! I’ll be ordering it today! Thanks again brother!!! God bless!
Why not a glarry 5-String jazz… B string no good?
Thanks for showing me how to trick out my gallery jazz bass
Keep that content coming bruh! I've been searching for a bass to purchase to get back into playing after a loooooong hiatus! Thanks bruh!
Hey bully the kid I just thought I just need some information to how to play bass and I’m getting me a bass guitar real soon and I was trying to understand the chorus of it and I’m wanted to learn so is there a possibility that I can learn how to play bass if you are interested to teach me how to play this bass And I need to learn even though it may take me some years to learn how to play this instrument so I’m just wanted to learn because you are the greatest teacher and I just wanted to know how to play bass even though I may not know you, but I will be more than happy to speak with youif you can just teach me step-by-step how to play bass because I want to learn how to play because I need to know thank you
Thanks for info on the Jazz neck. The narrower neck was what I wanted.
Thank you
I also love jazz and blues
Hi, want to learn how to play the bass. I'm 50 and would like to know what the best glary bass I should buy for starter that dont cost a lot. You are never too old to try something new..????
I think i will buy aglarry bass next time.
pups don't sound great I would love to hear this bass with some better pups
I just bought one. The intonation was perfect right out of the box and stays in perfect tune. I use a Peterson Strobe tuner. The Glarry short scale neck is small almost like a guitar. The tone is excellent. I’m literally shocked at the quality for $79
https://youtube.com/@miket125 … I bought a glarry 5 string after buying a left handed glarry for my old lady… My page has a little jam we did with that glarry n it also has my rogue 4 string fretless… Most r just quick little jams or line ideas but again I have a few basses but truth is the 3 cheapest basses I have r my 3 favorites…
I REALLY DON'T LIKE MY IBANEZ 505 SGR.
I bought 2 Glarry’s because of your direct influence and honesty. Thank you
Nicely said sir you're absolutely right these are amazing for the price. Maybe start with this or deck it out then when you're ready get a nice squier. I love squier but these Garry's are go to to noodles around
Glarry doesn't seem bad. They're rough around the edges, but the basics seem right. Just fix it up a bit. A piece of sandpaper will work wonders, and you're not getting anything cheaper, unless you can get something secondhand.
Just take it as a pre-built build kit.
I play. I dont buy stuff because of value for later. Some stuff yes but not my rigs.
That being said. I buy what i can afford and the savings has allowed me to purchase tools to learn more into the craft. Which further saves me money for another rig.
Subbed.
I got a PJ ibanez clone one, the pots were trash, I don't mean just cheap but they wouldn't function correctly, the frets were really bad like sticking up. The nut was probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my life, like not even ABS plastic but it wore away by just looking at it. Put in new pots, new nut and did a feet job and now it plays great and sounds great. The ceramic stock pickups are nice.
Unfortunately the nut it not something you can buy off the shelf, it's a unique shape and not slide on like Fender basses. I had to cut it and file it myself. Not something a beginner can do, which is what this bass it meant for.
I also swapped in brass saddles, which weren't neccessary because the stock bridge had no issues and had a decent chrome plating…but for $10 why not.
