Close but off! Live he uses a GK MB500 w/ bass and low mid at ZERO and treble and high mid boosted to 2 o clock with a blues driver for boost – try this and trust me it sounds EXACTLY like him ????
My favorite tone of his was on Plastic Surgery Disasters. It sounds like a p bass but less round. Jazz bass but with the bridge rolled off is what I’m guessing on that album.
Definitely a standout bassist, punk or otherwise. One thing I don't see mentioned is one reason he has that unique sound is he's left handed but uses his right hand for picking.
