Thanks for a video, interesting overview, as always. I have a question: if I wanted to use Airstep TX wirelessly with a Tonex Pedal (not Tonex one) – would it work with WIDI jack? I currently have Midi Captain (wireless version), which uses it's proprietary way of connecting to it's own receiver but considering getting an Airstep – just because of the option to make edits via an app.
Is the piratemidi not a better alternative for a tonex? The airstep controls dont seem to be the most logical and spending a midi command to change a patch seems much simpler.
Very useful and clear video … much appreciated!
there's a new mooer ge150 with lots of foot switch, can you make a review of mooer ge150 max.
Nice overview!
With TONEX pedal, IK made a GREAT pedal with HORRIBLE display and interface.
The should’ve teamed up with Sonicake for a better user experience.
(Seriously….TONEX interface sucks.)
I think the risk with AirStep is that IK Multimedia could produce an update for Tonex made in a way so 3rd party controllers stop working. After all Tonex One + Airstep could be seen as a direct competitor to the big Tonex pedal and is cheaper.
On "Transformability", Airstep Multi and Multi Lite are supposed to work with different modelers also… but it does not work well for Spark and is not being released yet for Tonex. I'm bit doubtfull will they ever fix this.
Thanks for this Leo! This looks like a very useful upgrade to the M-Vave Chocolate Im currently using. If/When Im playing live again I will get one of these, thank you!
I have the air step for Katana I don’t know if it would work with a tone X? That’s the down side to the Tone X it only has 3 buttons so this would be handy
Will the app updates when Ik Multimedia updates or adds more effects etc?
Thanks Leo. I wish IK would have got to this first, but I am a Xsonic Xtone pedal user and I love mine. Well done Xsonic !
Hi Leo, great demo, love your channel. Quick question on the pedal, specially when in effects mode. For the delay, does it require a long press to turn the delay on and off? This would throw me off while performing. Thansk in advance!
How effectively will Xsonic respond if IK release future firmware updates for Tonex, which might potentially break linked control functions ?
Very good review, learnt sonwthing new step on two switches and change the channel, very good and faster ( compare to step the right switch and then change the channel) use this with Tonex one for a while its very nice. ( one can prepare a library with up to 20 scenes in the PC editor and just replace it on the tonex Scene1) Marshall Clean 2) same plus Clone 3) Same plus booster 4) Lead ..next Bank 2 ) a Fender …
3) a Soldano
4) some clean sounds and modulation (maybe one scene Jazz )
5) Acoustic to plug in a Acoustic or 12 string
and if this is not enough i add it to the send and return of the GX 100 so you have all the Boss effects before and after plus a " EQ Shelf" …..änd if you switch off the send & return it goes back to GX 100 amps …good times for sound lovers????????
It's pretty cool and there is some competition from the PIRATE MIDI POLAR. I'm not too sure if you can range the pedal inputs. On other systems I like to range the gain like from 35% to 80% to seamlessly go from a rhythm sound to a lead one in a single patch.
Great video as always! If I had this then I would have kept the Tonex.
Does the app need to be on while performing?
Great video as always Leo! Was distracted by the guitar! Wow, it's gorgeous and sounds amazing. I'm working on a micro board with the Tone X One, the Airstep TX and a passive volume pedal for a complete micro-rig. It's a game changer for opening up the usage of a single Tone X One if you want to try that small of a rig. God bless and rock on ????????????
Leo this video was about tonex but the guitar take my attencion, what a pretty guitar!
This is a pretty cool thing for manual foot steppers.
My dream is still to be able to MIDI automate 2 Tonex One pedals for two guitarists live.
My band uses a Cymatic Live-Player 16 with MIDI out, currently into 2x old Digitech GSP1101 rack units, which sounds fine, but take 2U rack spaces in our in-ear system. Two Tonex Ones would take so much less space.
I really wish they would have 3.5mm mini-MIDI connetions!
First again!???????? More power Leo! Keep it up!
