Dunlop DVP4 Mini Volume Pedal Review
In this Dunlop DVP4 mini volume pedal review, we’ll cover this pedal in detail, and you’ll be able to determine if this is the right volume pedal for you. I include the pros and cons, sound samples, as well as various ways on how you can use a volume pedal. A volume pedal can be used for many applications ranging from psychedelic swells, to making your guitar sound like a violin.
For comparison, the dvp5 is a midsize version, whereas this demo on the DVP4 is a small version, or “mini” pedal. This one fits perfectly on small pedalboards such as the Pedaltrian metro, the MONO pedalboard lite, a Holeyboard Mini, or any time when space is tight on your board. This pedal is incredibly easy to use with both velcro or zip ties. Another thing I love about this pedal is the fact that I don’t sense any pedal tone loss.
Sound samples include:
Reverb Volume swells
Drone Volume swells
Tremolo and chord volume swells
Lead Guitar Examples
Some key features:
The Volume (X) Mini is about half the size most volume pedals
The ability to enable an easyconversion to an expression pedal that you drive via the AUX output (through internal dipswitch)
Effect parameter minimums, and heel/toe polarity which can also be set using an internal trim pot and switch
An all-rubber footprint

Great review thanks! Just stick up a piece of white gaffers tape on the top of the pedal. Sometimes I play in a pit for theater, and that's what I did to mine.
Nice examples!
Morley 20/20 volume glows in the dark. Same price .
Thanks for the review on the DVP4. Exactly what I was looking for.
I've mostly used the guitar volume knob for sweelsl/linear taper.
My question is' how close'assuming it's audio taper' how does the sweep in comparison vs matches up to a linear taper pot' alot of travel? being as small as it is.
Putting together my first Pedal board- I got this pedal, plus an awesome Black Country Customs " The Secret Path" Reverb pedal…
But totally new to all this…
Can you do a video how to connect the volume with the reverb, like how and what to use?
Show the visual how to connect it all please and thank you, God Bless!
Great pedal review. I was looking for an in-depth look on exactly this one. Beauty guitar too!
Thanks for the info.
If you play strat your volume control is right under your pinky, you dont really need this pedal 🙂
Hi ,could you please explain what was your signal chain to achieve that kinda "whaleish" sound on the intro ???? ?
I currently use a Hilton for my pedal steel guitar. Probably the best volume pedal I’ve had.
Great review!
Good video. Thanks for the review and explaination.
Hi, Can you use it as a dive bomber expression (tremolo bar efffect) pedal with a Helix Stomp?
Awesome video man! Thanks
Great info! Thank you
