Wrong. The transistors in The Tone Bender III Knob need to be germanium. Silicon tends to sound harsher.
The Bender is different from the typical Tonebender Mark 3. The tone control is where the difference is. The tone control on a Mark 3 thins out the tone which is good for humbuckers, the Bender stays fat sounding and the tone control adds brightness. The Bender is great with Strats but not so good with Humbuckers.
The JHS switch is okay, but it’s not amazingly different.
