Great Bass! I never bought G&L because they have very low resale value. And honestly, to my ears , that Bass sounds like a MM SR. G&L is very small and from what I hear they have furloughed most of their employees. Rumor has it that Fender would love to buy them not for the product , but for Leo Fenders Name , Image and likeness. For Fender to be reunited with Leo Fender, that way would be worth the price for them. It would be major get . Nice but i prefer the single humbucker L1000, i wish G&L would make more, better looking headstock design, fantastic pickup/s, i really would like one, G&L make/made some great bass's…. more variation with the twin pickup version but something special about the L1000 & i think the L1500 was a single humbucker bass as well, not 100% sure tbo…… enjoy bud
Really a shame that G&L seems to be done now 🙁 and if Fender really does buy them, they'll become the same garbage Fender has become. I really like my L-2500. Wish I had bought a G&L custom while I had the chance.
Mike, welcome to the club! George Fullerton and Leo Fender really hit their peak with their G&L basses. The MFD pickups with that great circuit in active AND passive mode, a bridge that’s solid and locks the saddles, the waist of the body and superb neck profile…..fabulous. I have a G&L 2500 and another ‘Big Chonks’ (750) with the regular string spacing and the ‘OMG circuit. If you should ever go with the rewire (as the Japanese models do), I’d be interested in that. I have the circuit drawings which are available. Then you pull out the Modern Plus Jazz….I’ve got the 5 string version, a ‘92 with the Kubicki neck and circuit. Great bass and smaller body size to a regular jazz. Catch you on the next love chat if I can. Nice one today though Sir!
