Diminished Scales In the Blues | How & where to use them
In this lesson I go over how exactly how to use diminished sounds in the Blues (Particularly the half whole diminished scale) just like Players such as Robben Ford and John Scofield do so well. Some main points of the video
-How do I play the scale?
-What chord progression should I use it on?
-The 5 to 1 (V to I) Progression
-Exactly which chord in the progression do I use the scale on?
These are some of the basic questions I had when trying to learn this stuff, but often had trouble finding straight forward answers. I hope to pass on this knowledge to all of you in a way that is simple, effective and straight to the point. I hope you enjoy the lesson. Please Subscribe for more lessons!

Yes, James, this is a terrific lesson on a topic that seems to me not generally handled very well on instructional videos. This definitely starts off us on solid ground and direction.
Great lesson. Thank you so much for your time and effort. I've been struggling with the riff in the link below by Frank Marino. Perfect mix of blues/rock and just a taste of the diminished scale. Cheers my friend! https://youtu.be/MWyTXOCtBaA?list=RDMWyTXOCtBaA&t=272

Bro, where i can find y. Mb email i would like to order two amps from your amp builder and other)
Great stuff here man. The part about not being afraid to "just use the straight scale" was really helpful. I've tried to follow lessons that have you weave back in forth in the scale with hammer ons/pulloffs, and too often hit wrong notes in the process. By the way, playing this scale the way you teach it immediately conjures licks in my mind from "Freddie Freeloader" on Kind of Blue. Love the thought of being able to create some of those lines on guitar!
Videos are always baiting us with blues to try and trick us into playing jazz. Not falling for it. Not today my friend. LMAO
That SVL is INSANE ! ! ! nice demo. love the palette you create….
