I've been exclusively using "the old" Vox AC15HW for a few years now. I love that amp. And to me, is a noticeable step up from the AC15C1. And, they can be had for 900-1000 on the used market. $2,000 is STEEEEEEEEEP man. Steep. No desire to "upgrade" to this new version, but, it's obviously a banger. Love the hand-wired series.
I was going to buy one of those $2,000 amp then I got my home and auto insurance renewal.

Cool amp, but the best AC15 that Vox made in recent years is the AC15H1TV IMHO, because it has a very sweet EF86 channel.

Great review! I’m now a subscriber. I’ve had one of these for a couple of months. It’s a great HW Series overall but I think the AC15 is the nice middle ground. I like the Normal Channel (with Boost) which the smaller models do not have. It can make for a good pedal platform for some.
The amp mics up quite well but the cab size coupled with the Alnico Blue makes this amp sing in a smaller room. The Master Volume is good but still have to use an attenuator as it’s impossible to get power tube grind without having cops called on you.
My amp is quiet until you get to extreme volumes where you get a slight hiss. At that point it feels like everything is crashing down on you anyway. If you don’t have to move the amp too much, it can still be a good home amp. More headroom through a cab that resonates beautifully. It gives you some of that visceral feeling of loud amp smacking you in the face. Cheers to all!

Have you tried the Z Wreck or the Jr? Been curious how one of those compares to a Vox or Matchless
looks and sounds great! But, I don't have $2K laying around for an amp. 🙁
This updated hand-wired line addresses every practical issue I've had with the Vox ACs. I'm more likely to go for the AC4, but man, the 15 sounds great here. Cheers!
Love the AC15, specially for that added bright switch, but it's smaller brother, the 10C, is equally good for the chime sound ????????
