In this review we take a look at the Schecter Omen Elite 7 String in See Thru Blue Burst. An incredible looking electric guitar with an even better looking price tag. But does it hold up?
The Schecter Omen Elite range were released in 2020 with several models, including fixed bridge and Floyd rose, and 3 colours being see thru blue burst, dark cherry burst, and charcoal.
I wanted to find out if the Omen Elite was a serious bang for buck contender in the affordable 7 string guitar market. Let’s take a look!
Leave any questions you might have down in the comments and I’ll absolutely do my best to answer them. Otherwise, if you just want to roast me or even say something nice, drop them down there too!

My son and I both play guitar, my son has purchased four schecter guitars at price points from 1400 to 2400 and every one had to be sent back because of frett buzz, dead spots on the neck and frett problems, sup with that?
I just got the exact guitar. It's sick! put a nazgul in the bridge and set it up in drop f#. it's like a 1500 dollar neck on a 600 dollar body. The neck makes it a very nice guitar.
If you're curious about this guitar…get it. It stands up to my $1500 7 string Jackson all day. Premium instrument for a killer price.
You won't be disappointed
Omen Extreme-6 and Demon-7 here.
I bought the Elite 6 about 3 months ago. Pretty happy with it except for the tuners. They are absolutely 5h1t. I've owned 15 electric guitars in my life and the tuners on this guitar are the worst.
It seems like a great guitar to me, I'm undecided between this one and the HB Amarok 7
Awesome review, this was awesome to listen to and watch. A little fact about the pickups; From what I understand Schecter started as a pickup company first before making guitars. So imo if any company is gonna have insanely good "in house" pickups it's gonna be Schecter. I don't know how true what I said is, but I recommend doing some more research because I've heard they're supposed to be good.
Are these passive pickups? I notice that it’s unclear in their catalog as to which guitars pickups are passive vs active. I typically prefer passive pickups just because I think the options for replacing pickups are more plentiful.
Øøømen dealeat.. fucking play. stop talkin
Hello I cannot understand what pickup combinations are getting activated at different positions can you please help me out?
I think the Omen Elite 7 is the perfect choice for my first 7 string. It plays and sounds great and is affordable.
Is it easy to restring?
holy shet you scared the sh*t out of me haha
I just bought this guitar from Sweetwater with a Plek guitar setup in A tuning. I am waiting to receive the guitar, but I'm sure I will love it. It will be my second Shecter 7 string guitar that I have owned. The blue burst body looks so beautiful.
it's a great guitar but I'm not a fan of the poplar wood. kinda gives me tripophobia. that's just me personally.
Hell yeah! This was my first 7 string in 2023. I fucking LOVE mine, and it even felt better than my tao-7 in azure that I sold. I don't know if mine specifically was just made crazy well, but it is BEAUTIFUL and perfect in my hands. Love playing invent animate songs on it. Set it up myself and I'm thinking about dropping BK Aftermath pickups in it. OH BTW if you are wondering about the angle of the multiscale pickups, I got in touch with schecter and they said that it was "15 Degrees".
TLDR: If you are even considering this work of art, FUCKING DO IT. (got mine in red)
Jack you're a likable guy and you review two of the guitars I'm interested in buying so you got a new subscriber.
Hi. in your opinion is it better than a Devil 7 FR??
I'm looking to buy this as my first 7 string, I have a boss katana 50 MKII and currently have no tone pedals, do you think this will still sound good with that setup or would I need a little something more
This is one of the better reviews I've watched of any guitar. The pros and cons were noteworthy, and not just singing praises or hating on. Definitely looking forward to watching more of your opinions on stuff
I have the burl one I absolutely love it
I just picked up the Extreme 6 of this line for $400 in magenta and couldn't be happier. Plays just as good if not better than my last guitar that was $800.
You seem to be a very cool person and I appreciate the effort. But the lighting killed your review. I just can't see the product…
Great review brother !!! My left handed Omen elite 7 was delivered yesterday and I can't put it down . I prefer a slightly lower string action but set up the way it came it still plays incredibly fast and I too am super impressed by the stock HERETIC pickups !! I've already ordered a great quality set of locking tuners to help with the excess backlash that the stock ones possess . The guitar is light and plays better than my Banshee elite 7 . That guitar fatigues my arms and it's heavy as well . I'm so impressed with this guitar !!! Thanks again for the killer review brother ????????????????????????????
amazing review honestly, not a seven string but I got myself the omen elite 6 FR also in blue and it plays amazingly I love it sm. Great vid I had to subscribe ❤❤
Just bought this thing thanks to your review . Would you mind linking me or telling me which brand of tuners you’d recommend I’d buy? Would help a beginner a lot
Just got my hand on one of these in red and I feel it is the best choice in the price range. Definitely beats most budget Ibanez 7s. I put it right up there with PRS SE SVN. Good value out of the box. I would just change the tuners straight away and give it a good setup with fresh strings. I like NYXL 9-64 for 26.5in scale.
I just picked up one of these a few days ago in the transparent charcoal, and this thing is NASTTYYY good. guy had it tuned down to mud though
does anybody know which is the maximum string gauge that fits the lowest tuning post please ?
I cannot for the life of me find a bridge to use as a replacement on this one, I want to buy this guitar as a mod guitar and upgrade every piece of hardware on it
Well this review settles it. It is currently in an online cart awaiting the funds to purchase it. Thank you
I have the 8 string multiscale version, and I adore it
Thanks I just ordered a black cherry omen elite and I was looking for some playing on it so I can see if I spent my money
This is how reviews should be. Bloody brilliant mate, you’ve got a new sub.
Do you think there’s a big difference between the elite 7 and the elite 7 multiscale?
My bass player just picked up the Omen Elite 7 in red. Hesding to his place tomorrow to see how she plays/sounds, will be running her thru the Gojira plugin, which I've already used with my Ibanez RGT and ABSOLUTELY love. My bassist says she's playing great right out of the box. I can't argue with Schecter's ability to make great guitars at a great price point. Have had my Hellraiser Extreme for 12 years, and she's been an absolute workhorse since day 1! Great review here, looking forward to teying her out tomorrow!
You're not an idiot! You're a great salesaman ????
Great review man. One year after release, I'm sitting here about to pull the trigger on my second schecter omen but with 7 strings, and I am convinced that it is the right move. Can't afford a 4000 dollar guitar like I played at the shop but this should do just fine.
I really liked your review man, good job????????I have a schecter reaper ms 7 multi scale and I just got the same exact omen you have except it’s the multi scale version, same finish and all. The action on mine was also a bit high for my taste as well. So i lowered it and i struggled with the intonation as well as issues like fret buzz and that was just from lowering the action a little bit. I have it about as good as it’s gonna get(which isn’t bad but my reaper has perfect action.) I do see exactly what you mean about the tuners being shit though lol.
