  • Covers are just lazy attempts to make money by taking credit for the work done by someone more talented.

  • Ruined Their Careers ???? Bit of a slight exaggeration there doncha think? ????

  • These sensationalist clickbait titles, though. You guys clearly just looked for bands doing covers that happened to be lame. No careers were "ruined", these are just bad covers. But wow. Train may have been able to write a few decent pop tunes, but that cover of "Light My Fire" is all the proof needed to know that as a band, they suck.

  • While none of these abysmal songs were career ending, they truly are awful. That said, of those listed, I personally found Hillary Duff's "My Generation" to be the worst. Actually, for all the reasons you listed. For me, whenever I hear her name, I STILL always think of that clueless rendition.
    So…thanks for that. Lol

  • WatchMojo has turned into clickbair trash A.I. slop. Sad. Used to really enjoy their videos, maybe 1 or 2 wouldn't make sense/relate. But now the entire "listicle" makes zero sense.

  • I'm a HUGE Rod Stewart fan but Paris Hilton's cover of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" really wasn't that bad.
At least she was somewhat faithful to the original.

  • Never liked any covers that Six Feet Under did their cover of the evil that men do by iron maiden is so laughably bad thats its unintentionally good.

  • Why would duran duran cover 911 is a joke when they are British and probably don't know half of what the American justice system is like for people of color I'm British and even I know that this is a bad choice

  • Interesting among all these terrible covers, two artists in this video covered each other to perfection. The Who covered “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” and Elton John covered “Pinball Wizard”.

  • I mean. Nickelback and Kid Rock… you didn’t have to even give the song title or say anything else.

  • Duran Duran's entire cover album (whence "911 is a Joke" comes) is questionable. Yikes.

  • Nah, I like Train's Light my Fire cover. I'd still keep it and didn't ruined my perception of them in the least.

  • lol you guys are reaching so much and sound like major music snobs, especially with that narrator. Not a good look. I'm not a fan of most of these acts but they didn't sound horrific at all.

  • Welcome to WatchMojo! And today, we're exaggerating yet another thing to get more views. ????

  • Maybe Train was trying to cover José Feliciano’s version of Light My Fire and got confused along the way? ????

  • You picked the wrong song for Guns N' Roses. Their cover of the 50s classic "Since I Don't Have You" is the musical equivalent of kicking a puppy.

  • lol "ruined their careers" when in reality their careers were ruined by something else

  • Chuck D didn't perform in "911 Is A Joke." That was Flava Flav's contribution to the Public Enemy catalog.

  • You forgot Bull Durham (1988), Major League (1989), Field of Dreams (1989), For Love of the Game (1999) and What's New Scooby-Doo.

  • If you doa part two, you have to include Rita Coolidge’s cover of Jackie Wilson’s “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher”. Horrid.

  • Machine Gun Kelly covering System of a Down's "Aerials" is absolutely abysmal. He has no soul, no depth, and his voice is flat and atrocious. He doesn't even attempt to hit the notes Serj Tankian does in the original, which kind of tells me that he really can't sing. Look up the original song, then look up MGK's version and you'll see what I mean. It's mind boggling how he continues to top record chart, which says quite a bit about the people listening to his music.
