After making this video, I was able to get you a discount code if you want to purchase anything from hils. Discount code: GOHEADLESS site wide!
I’m waiting for sire x6. I hope u will try it
Oh man❤???? nice video, and hope u didnt break it ????
Your little guitar stand mishap there just earned you a sub.
Which model is this? The HN 3,4,.or 5?
These are known as Hex in Korea, and are cheap as chips. You can get them used for less than $200. Might look into it..
(jump scare warning)
You should review the Fermata Evo 24
Locktight-you only touch once.
"Thank god it wasn't a Gib***" ????????????
7:42 @ you at all good to see your not prefect!
So itty bitty lol
You almost shot my heart at 7:15
… i was planning to buy the Ibanez q series 7 string but after seeing this video , nope!
Excellent video. Unlike most talky guitar reviews, I didn't ever skip ahead. Everything was succinct and relevant.
7:24 this is exactly why I end up selling every expensive guitar I've had???? I like to play instruments and live with them, and if I have to baby them anxiously I end up leaving them in the case ????
Use not an angle cable for Ibanez, but your left leg.
Is there a good reason that the leg cut out that allows the guitar to sit at a 45° angle while seated is only available on headless guitars? Does a regular guitar head make it too heavy for that to be comfortable? Does anybody even know the answer to this considering the fact that it only seems to be a thing on headless guitars anyways? Because it seems like something that regular guitars could benefit from them as well but it’s never really been tried, that I’ve seen at least
No floyd rose no fun
New viewer here! Loving the quick, but in-depth analysis you gave us! Thank you!
You cover items in your reviews that nobody else touches on. Very appreciated review.
Excellent video, think I'm gonna go for this one
Dude literally staged the guitar falling off the stand ????????♂️…SMDH
Haven’t really considered owning a headless guitar before but for that price, it could be a fun travel guitar to always have with me
Is this have tremeloo
Really nice review, I am looking to get one but was curious to know if you also tried the one with passive pickup (HN4) too. Not sure which have better pickups…
does the fixed bridge on the HILS HN3 feel flimsy and weak or unstable compared for example, a regular guitar with a fixed hipshot bridge?
The price definitely is a good selling point, I mean even if I wanna install a set of some better pickups I'd be at around $800 total, which is still a good deal for this guitar.
wait what company made this???
I've had a Boden 6 for about 2 years. I use it exclusively for travel because I prefer my Gibson at home although I think the Boden build quality is excellent. Honestly the jury is still out on the contour neck with me. I get along with the fan frets but my thumb never quite sits right on this neck after a while. What's your take on the Hil's neck contour and thickness?
Great video. Glad I found you. I'm looking at the multiscale 7 string version of this the HZ7.
dude if there are contact issues in your jack, maybe you should check the inside of the barrel, tighting it up wont solve anything, just replace it
Im waiting with great impatience the launch of the Sire X6 7 strings multiscale …N YES WITH A TREM… in metallic Green which looks stellar …i already have a Strat from SIre (S7 v2) flamed maple top transparent blue burst (or such) n its the best guitar i've ever own in 3 decades …for such a lil' price it's even weird …..i just did a couple of upgrades like : Gotoh/Wilki Trem in honed black + Gotoh lockink tuners in black chrome for the esthetic (n a treble bleed on the volume pot) + some polishing of the fretboard to get a more satin finish
What is model number?
I was going to buy an Eart, this may change my mind! I wish I could find a decent priced headless with a floating type trem.
I bought the guitar after Phil’s and your video. The setup was terrible. The intonation wasn’t even close. For some reason the tension seemed really tight and I play 1/2 step down. The guitar just didn’t feel right to me. I believe the guitar needed a fret level and the nut wasn’t cut deep enough. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone that I can trust to work on a guitar. The closest guitar center is over $50 miles away. I found the frets too small and the fret ends were sharp. The good thing is HILS had really good costumer service and they took the guitar back and they also sent me a return label. I thought about getting the upgraded guitar because they told me they would be using bigger frets but the price went up $100 for the next model.
I have watched enough of your videos to trust your judgment at this point. I waited nervously through this video for the hardware section, whew, relief. Looks like I found my next guitar. I've been playing my original steinberger for forty one years so it has earned a break. Thanks for all your work Andre.
Picked one up this week and it is way better than I had expected. I personally find the pickups better than just "ok" and I really am not seeing any reason to swap them out. Sounding really great through acrhetype abasi IMHO. Extremely comfortable to play sitting down. Neck feels great, fretwork is very good. Setup was decent but not perfectly dialed in. Easily fixed since I need to change the string gauge anyway. My only real problem was that right out of the box it had a strange vibration rattle when you strum on it. I never was able to figure out what was causing this but it very much sounded like a loose nut vibrating somewhere. I could not find anything loose anywhere on the guitar but after about an hour of playing it just stopped happening. Really not a huge deal I guess, since you couldn't hear it when plugged into an amplifier anyway. Time will tell how this thing holds up but my initial impression is very high even before dialing the setup in. Thanks for the review Andre. Wish I had noticed the discount code before I ordered. p.s. my swamp ash Carvin 7 string no longer feels featherweight after playing this thing. lol
Dang my anxiety jump to 10 seeing your guitar fall ????
COULD YOU PLS TRY THE HEX 400
Where can I buy this hills guitar?
Peccato che non abbia la leva del tremolo
Thank you again for this review. I ended up getting one of these beasties. This is a step up from an EArt GW2-SE or GW2-Pro models (especially this one). My Hils HN5 with Tremolo and Active Pickups is a great beastie. I wish it had separate controls for each of the pickups. The neck is a thinner in width and depth neck than my Steinbergers and Spirit models. I am also enjoying the sound of the humbuckers, but the coil split is a bit nousey for my taste. I am really digging the Hils Tremolo, verses what is present in my Spirit models (a Steinberger R-Trem), this one reminds me of a newer Gotoh 2-point tremolo than anything.
I would compare this Hils HN5 to an Ibanez AxeStar Moreno than the newer Ibanez models, the body on the Hils is really tiny and is closer to a half-size than a 3/4 sized body.
Hope this helps.
There is no such thing as a stainless steel that is softer than or wears more than nickel, so whoever made the frets, it's still an upgrade.
looks like the price went up.
