The PedalBoard Rundown
Checking out the magnificence that is Justin Mitchell’s pedalboard. Starting a new series on effects and who better than the man himself to take us inside the beauty of this fine board.
Electro-Harmonix, Zvex Effects, Chase Bliss, Earthquaker Devices, Empress, Tc Electronic. All of these pedals will get their own demo eventually but just wanted to make an introduction.

Join Justin Mitchell and Sean Daniel as we go over an introduction into sweep picking using the proper principles of picking through arpeggios. So get your minor arpeggio shapes down and rock it out!

Hey Sean, it's been a while however this was a great tutorial on pedalboards which you may remember is one of my unknowledgeable pieces of the pie to great guitar playing. Justin has put together a top of the line board and I thank him for sharing. What's your opinion about having a pedalboard powered by a Voodoo power supply or spending more money on a Friedman board with power and buffer, just curious if one might be overkill. I hope all is going well my friend, Navy Mark…
I'm mostly trying to learn on an acoustic guitar, but I do have an electric that I strum sometimes. So, my amp is great for acoustic and vocals (Genz-Benz), but I don't know what to do with my electric (which I mostly play unplugged, so I don't bother my roommates). I'm borrowing a Floor Pod Line 6 from a friend, but it seems … weird. My question: what would you recommend for an amp/pedal combo for relative newbie on a modest budget? (I like old Stones, CCR, but I'd also like to learn some old AC/DC, and some harder rocking, and dirty sounding stuff, like Nirvana, etc.)
Sean, great pedalboard tutorial. I only have a couple effects pedals I picked up along the way however do you suggest buying a pedalboard that comes with a power supply or purchase a power supply separately. Thanks, Navy Mark…
Just bought the Ditto as my second looper pedal..happy with it.
this is great. i play acoustic for years with no amps or anything. last May bought an electrical guitar and im really struggling with pedals and amp set ups. you rock man, thx! cheers from Portugal 🙂
what is the name of the Tube screamer on steroids?
This is exactly the kind of series I've been wanting. I've been playing for over a year now but only in the last 2 months or so got into pedals, and I feel a bit in over my head. Can't wait!
If you haven't checked out That Pedal Show, you should!
I know absolutely nothing about pedals, watching this series is going to be like learning a new lenguage. Looking forward to it though.
Nice pedal board. Want to hear the delay's and the reverb pedals.
excited to learn more about this
So curious – I think this topic is such a great idea from you guys !
Looking forward to the rest of this series!
$2k pedal boards are nice and all, but not something I will watch. Now show me how to get some different sounds with $30 JOYO's and I'm all in.
What do you use to keep the pedals secure on the board?
Yes! I've been waiting for this 😀
Long time acoustic player that just got an electric guitar so I am a newbie to EFX pedals and such…Looking to get my looper pedal (research junkie…like Justin) I am tossed between the Digitech Jamman Solo XT and the Boss RC-3 and the corresponding footswitch OR the Zoom GX1on multi effects pedal with a looper. Can you guys talk about multi effects pedals VERSUS spending a $h!t ton of money on different pedals like this gorgeous board
That board makes my wallet afraid
Would like to hear them as well.
Does taking your amp off the floor and tilting it up make a significant difference?
Could you recommend some good guitar tuner apps for ios/android? Thanks.
No shorts, not even polo shirts? Bring back Sean you evil twin!
Belgium, Belgium … ????????????
Looking foward to it! BTW you seem like such a nice guy Sean. You too, Justin. But notice I've said Sean first.
I'm a proper pedal noobie. Does each pedal need its own power source or are they powered up by the amp?
Here's a more technical question that might need it's own video, or even series…
How to pedals… work? Like the wiring/circuitry and stuff? What magic happens in the box to give my tone overdrive, chorus, flanger, Some other effect I don't want to spend a year listing, Etc.
I'd really want to see your perspective between the differences of Overdrive, Distortion, and Fuzz in regards to lead/soloing.
Btw, that pedalboard should become a Victoria's secret Angel. Soo sexxyyyy
I can't believe you guys spent 13 minutes to talk about pedals, and you didn't show us how they sound…
I've just added a load of 2nd hand delays to my board (Boss DD-3, DD-7, Ibanez DE7, Digitech timebender), I'd really appreciate your perspectives/theories on a) proper stacking of delays (i.e. milliseconds) and b) the hows and whys of the variety of delay pedals that have effected popular music through the last several decades. Cheers from Seoul
