The Best Multi-Effect Pedal for Ambient & Lofi Music? | Chase Bliss Lost + Found Review

The @ChaseBlissAudio Lost + Found might just be the most creative multi-effect pedal ever made for ambient and lofi music. Designed as a museum of rare and forgotten sounds, it blends 12 experimental modes that range from phasing resonators to melting octaves and broken tape loops.

In this brief review, I’ll walk through a few of my favorite settings — from its unique blend of granular textures and modulated ambience to the beautifully imperfect tones that make Chase Bliss pedals so inspiring for sound designers, guitarists, producers, and creatives alike.

PS: A huge thank you to my friends at Sweetwater for providing the guitar used this video.

  • I'd like to see Chase Bliss get their hands dirty with actual tape delay, like the TRex Replicator. But I realise that's a real step outside of their form factor, plus what's the incentive given they're having so much success with digital effects? But you just want to see their micro processing genius controlling one of the oldest effects.

  • I really cannot wait for mine. Kinda sad that some who ordered in day 1 , just received theirs recently. But happy that I ordered before Aug 15th.

  • Wanted to play with mine for a couple of days before I watched this. Like a lot of people have said, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing with it, but it sounds great. When you listen to each individually, you notice that they sound totally similar.

And when you start to combine them, you see the genius of that: It seems to be very hard to get a bad sound out of it, no matter what whatever you combine together.

  • I know my vote does not count with regard to Chase Bliss, but what I want to see is an end to this form of marketing. I dislike being reminded that most of the market (by dollar) is people who spend more than my food budget on gear every month, and it never was about people like me getting to buy things before they are discontinued without notice—at least, Chase Bliss is giving notice. I have a lot of respect for their design among other aspects of their work, no hate.

  • Cool though it's not quite my thing. I have managed to not ever own a CB pedal but the Empress Zoia seems like it covers pretty much everything this pedal can do and quite a bit more. Bought and sold that one twice now, lol. It just sucked all life from the signal when it was off so it had to go. I've considered a Chroma Console but eh, what I really want is a pedal that does the Magnatone stereo harmonic trem plus maybe some tape/vinyl effects. That would be a dream come true. I actually bought the Zoia to try to replicate the trem effect but could never get a good result, plus the tone suck was real.

  • Watched this mostly to assure myself how much longer I have to wait for mine. I know Jason ordered his day one, I managed to hold out until the 15th so I still got some waiting to do.
On the "what should Chase Bliss do next?" Given the number of pedals chopped worldwide due to RoHS stepping it up (correctly & justifiably) a new compliant version of the Tonal Recall Delay would be welcome full time. As for Small Batch a new Automatone in the standard CB box that, unlike the Brothers AM or even the original Automatone, doesn't rely on one specific drive circuit maybe ape the Lost & Found format & get 6 to 12 distinct drives under the toggles. Everything from clean boost to nasty fuzz.

  • Of the songs I recognize you play, more and more I hear we listened to the same music through the years and hearing it through this Lost + Found as sound examples was a real treat Jason. I am so glad I ordered one of these and am excited for it to arrive in the next few days so I can try to get similar sounds in the evening hours. Really great demo of the settings you enjoyed. An update to Habit / Blooper to be Stereo is my request for the future.

  • Some great sounds, though I'm not partial to some of the typical CB glitching presets. But that's just subjective. Great JM too. I've been eyeballing that model in sunburst.
