  • Hey Andrew, do u use the same cab on stage that you are modeling In the Quad Cortex? I just wondered if its a drastic difference , if you used a different one, between the front of house and what's coming out of the cab? Hope that question makes sense, kinda confusing to convey. Thanks for all the great videos man! ????

  • the only downside of the Semour duncan 700 is that runs on 4ohms only. So if you use a Cabinet that dont support the 4ohms, instead it runs on 8 or 16ohms your volume power will suffer bad????????

  • If you already have an amp(any amp) you don’t need a power amp. Plug modeler(neural DSP) out to amp send return(back of the amp used for connecting pedal). If you don’t have that, use clean channel with all fader to the middle.

  • Could i use a laptop and audio interface with for example gojira x on it and just plug the output on the audio interface into a frfr

  • Does the power stage 700 need a 4ohm cab for full power like the power stage 200 does?

  • Great video and explanation. What are your thoughts on a powered FRFR in lieu of a power amp and cab?

  • The tone between the two outputs sounds pretty different, I assume you EQ your patch to give you what you want for the direct FOH?

  • ALWAYS use a cab if you’re not using in-ears. It’s gonna be a mess otherwise

  • Went to a BANE show recently. The difference between the bands using this setup of SD power amp and preamp pedal didn't sound anywhere nearly as good as they guys playing OG heads and cabs. I would say half the guitar players that night were using real amp heads. I get that it is convenient but doesn't sound the same. Digital route just sounds hollow and just lacks everything. I would think you would want to be excited about your sound. Say what you will, just one guys opinion.

  • Have you ever run your Quad Cortex through the return of an amp? I always wondered how much that would color the sound.

  • My band bought a 2000 watt berhinger pa from a friends grandpa and use it for oravtice and live. We played a show and didn’t use the venue PA or a sound guy because we’re old school death metal. We used stage volume from drums and 412s and our pa for vocals bc we know that pa we inside out. Isn’t the best sounding pa but for $500 pa the crowd lost their shit at every song. For small shows it’s perfect. Plus we can play anywhere, venue houses or even empty fields/parking lots.

  • Im running a Headrush Flex prime through the PA 90% of the time, if i need to run "stage sound" im using a Headrush FR/FR Monitor miced up as backline if needed!

  • Great video! can you maybe recommend some cheaper alternatives for power amps on a later video? Thanks!

  • I was just thinking of doing a video just like this -except my setup is way more budget. Hotone Ampero + Harley Benton GPA400. This is truly the best setup.

  • This might be a dumb question so forgive me if so,

I might look into upgrading to the Powerstage 200 for the XLR output with the Cab IR, if I decide to use both at the same time (speaker out to cab, XLR out to front of house) does it apply the Cab IR to both outputs? Or only to the XLR out? Wouldn't make sense to send the IR to both outputs, but felt the need to ask anyway to clarify. Thank you sir. ????

  • question. with my modeler, im using a fractal fm3, im also using the SD Power Stage 700. but ive been noticing that when i have the modeler set to a volume that doesnt clip in the power stage , i have to set the PS volume to something crazy like 3 o'clock just to be audible in a practice and show setting. any reason i would be running into this issue? @BaenaCarcosa if you are doing 50% for shows im easily at 75-80%

  • I use a Helix/Powerstage 170 rig to run into my Orange 2×12 and I havent went back to my tube amp/pedalboard rig since… Truly a game changer my dude. ✌️????
