  • You couldn’t be more wrong on SEVERAL points. The amp that you are using has NOTHING to do with Page’s actual modified Supro 1690T Coronado (you need Mitch Colby’s Sundragon amplifier to get near the many tones), the finish on the guitar (there was none except for the Dragon artwork), you are playing virtually everything incorrectly…sweet Jesus, there’s so much more.

  • How is the other Supro that was on the floor? The Delegate maybe? I’ve wanted to get one of those.

  • It will always be my favorite Zeppelin album! The Tele is much clearer than the Les Paul (to me).

  • That he was playing a telecaster is a revelation, like most I assumed it was a Les Paul on the neck pickup, or up center

  • I can only imagine how much better it would sound with another mic on the speaker.

  • Not quite a cigar, but nice attempt. The CHIME is missing, and the heart is always in the music.

  • As a Zep-phile….and someone who learned every Zep song while in HS in the 80s using the legendary "Led Zeppelin Complete" tab book… I can say that listening to you play these song through those amps/effects… MY EARS ARE DROOLING!!!! Well done Sir, well done.

  • I can't hear any notes because of all the useless effects you rock types love so much

  • didn't the Supro fall out the Yardbirds van/was repaired and never sounded better. Your "DAZED" is as wicked as Jimmy's.

  • Dude, a couple of things. First, Page didn't use a Black Magick amp as you claim to record LZ1. It was a modified Supro Coronado. Please look up Sundragon amps and get your facts straight. The Black Magick is a somewhat close clone made on an assembly line. The Sundragon is an exact replica using NOS parts (as many as possible) with everything dialed in to Page's satisfaction and approval. The original Sundragons were around $20/25K each (that's what a signature costs). I have a "regular" model ($4K). They are all hand made to order. They took apart Page's actual amp and had it for two years. Looks like you're an unashamed hawker of new gear instead of an honest reviewer/historian (the Black Magick does sound good as it is close to the original, but not exact). Secondly, you play a lot of the stuff incorrectly. You're not a bad player, but your lazy at learning the riffs correctly. Just my two cents. Also, your ego could use a bit of detuning. When you say you're gonna go play the second half of the solo, you say it as if we're in for a magical experience from your god-given talent. Not so much. 1000's of guitarists can do that (me included), some spot on. Oh, and I was 14 when LZ1 came out. Absolutely mind blowing at the time and it's still fantastic. I can still hear those opening chords like it was yesterday, some 56 years later. I've been playing a long time. Here's the lowdown on the available gear used on LZ1 (which I happen to own): a Sundragon, a Fender Custom Shop Jimi Page Tele (the one used to record the album, a '59 w/'58 pickups), and a Fender production line Jimi Page Dragon Tele (what the '59 became after he hand-painted it). One of the Tele's goes into one of my Tone Benders and one of my wahs. I add a tape echo and rotary as necessary. This is as close as you're ever gonna get to that iconic tone. I don't have a Theramin. A lot of the final tone is obviously achieved during mixing.

  • Awesome toines. Great video. His tele was never butterscotch. It was white with mirrors before he sanded it & painted a dragon on it; its strings were top-loaded not through the body when he recorded that album.

  • Hate selling gear , I don't do it ever , kept this going since I started in 89 , funny with all the stuff I still have the supro black magick and my tele's are my main since 2017 ,not even thinking of Mr Page as I lug them around, not because I tried to capture his sound , just because I liked the amp the best and a tele is my go to ,kid knew what he was doing ..I say kid because he was much younger than I am now when he went with this combo

  • First off you need to be a blues based guitarist. To sound like page there’s a whole lot of different aspects. Practicing definitely needs to be top of your list as far as learning to play even close to page. Which I’ve gotta say Tyler got pretty damn close playing the solo. I’ve heard many guitarists ruin this song for me back in the day. It’s good to see a young guitarist not over playing or over distorting the guitar thinking that’s what you have to do. Actually very very well done on this song bro. Really sounded spot on.
