  • ????Ok. First an amp is an amp. You disagree? Your a fucking idiot. The SPEAKERS are different. That is what your ear, no matter how fucking elite you think it is, is hearing. Put the exact same speaker in each. Then listen. Same tone. If it is different it's so small, so infinitely minute, that a human ear CANNOT hear it. NO HUMAN, ON EARTH. NONE OF YOU. The only difference in amps is the wiring of the stages and internals, (I.e. how it's blueprinted at the factory by its manufacturer). Now, that being said. Closed back can change tone, vs open or even partially, also cabinet size. The larger the box, the "warmer" the tone (that's what she said). It's literally deeper in size so that's what you hear. Yes, it can sound warmer but it's just simply sound spread out in a larger area. There is actual, factual evidence of all of this, including speaker wave, box, wave and coil to coil wave tests. Sonic wave tests. Way more accurate then some fucking dip shit guitar player, telling you his ear is some fucking Fabrage' egg of audio listening!! So, buy ANY amp you'd like. Start swapping speakers. Coils play into tone but single coil to single coil, brand for brand, same resistance, you again will never notice. SPEAKERS are your best tone change. Cabinet is second. Honestly, amp, guitar and coil choice is all personal to what you want the sound to be. Why do you think they make different coils. Or why pros use a strat, a Les Paul, and maybe 1 other with P-90s depending on how the LP is set up. So they can get the sound or tone that particular coil makes. Doesn't matter where it's built. But again, Humbucker vs. Humbucker, you're buying what's stamped on it for a name.
    Good luck and happy hunting

  • I have a Vox VT40x, it's good for clean tones and Rock, but not so great for metal, which is sadly what I play the most 🙁

  • After getting a Fender Deluxe Reverb, my VT40x just sounds like a beginner practice amp you get with a $100 guitar and amp kit.
