Pedal Review & Playthrough: Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion
Today I’m reviewing one of my pedal board favourites: the notorious, and truly exceptional, Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal. This “clone” of the chainsaw classic Metal Zone is leaps and bounds beyond that design, splitting mid-range frequency control into high and low bands, giving you a whole new level of sound design.
And, in case you didn’t already know this, it works equally well in front of an amp or as its own preamp.
For metal on a budget, pink may be the new black!

Was my first pedal way back in 2006
I love this pedal because it's pretty light for one it sounds mean and heavy as fuk. And it uses a 9v. So i can plug it into my lekato pedal and plug in my headphones and bam pocket amp. It's a awesome pedal.
I just bought one also…gonna play it through a Les Paul epi….light guitar. I want my Gibson back! arrgg
You have to know how to make it sound good. Thats an interesting setup you have got over their. I have an UM300 which I plug it with my Blackstar id core 10.
Honestly speaking, I had no idea this pedal can sound this good. Thank you for uploading this video????
Stop obstruction view
Just bought one. What he said is true and i confirm it is amazing pedal. I like it more than my Boss MD-2. Use proper power supply and there is no noise.
It's definitely meant to be a preamp, plugging it into the front of the amp into the clean channel really messes up the sound and frequencies
Sounds pretty shreddy! ☢️☢️☢️
"Shared" circuitry ? More like stolen ????
Great video. Couple clips mentioned used as a pre-amp. How do you make it run as a pre-amp? Return of the FX Loop? Thanks
informative video, thanks a lot. Does it help with {inch harmonics ? Thanks
can you use this for lead tones?????
Only vid that shows real potential of this pedal pushing the front of my Marshall DSL 40 C crunch channel this pedal dialed in right with amp gain and eq fn rocks ! Im talkin George Lynch Dokkken tone with a dimarzio super distortion pickup ! Love it
i want this, but it looks like it's not as pink as the pictures online… i might have to get one of their other metal distortion pedals that are more legit pink.
this one sounds good, though.
You just sold one ????
Sounds soo good
Thanks for this…would love to hear it at minimal distortion.
Heavy tone
Bravo????
