Hi Brian, the jury's out for me on the paisley finish. I think my tastes are more traditional. Having said that, James Burton played a paisley Tele years ago so it's not a new thing. I just don't think it's a look for me.

Both look like sweet guitars for the price. I like the tele but I've always been a tele guy. Good review, as always.
I’d have to look at good still pics, but that might be one of my mom’s paisley designs. She worked as a textile designer who specialized in tight hand designs like paisleys and florals for women’s clothing and men’s/women’s accessories at two Manhattan based studios (until she switched careers after my dad passed when we were kids to be closer to home/school). Her stuff pops up frequently and we can tell her work like handwriting. We’ve had sheets and all sorts of other stuff that factories have since printed her work onto over the decades because they never get rid of the rollers that are worth millions of dollars each — they just change the colors with the times. And no, she never got royalties. She was paid on a salary at a studio and didn’t own copyrights for the work she made at the studio. People always ask. She wanted stability as a young wife and mom and didn’t have the money to start up her own business.
I always say it would be so cool to have my mom’s design on a guitar. I’ve seen Gretsch use one of her designs on a few of their high end guitars. Maybe I can hope to have a FireFly with her stuff someday. She would have thought her designs on a guitar would have been really cool. She was always so proud seeing her work on everything from high end designer handbags to affordable little makeup bags.
Well, I don’t totally know if it’s hers. I’ll have to find some good stills. I tried pausing your video but it’s too blurred to tell the details of the pen/paint flicks and other details in the work.
Those are some beautiful twins! I would be tempted to try a clear pickguard for the strat, just to see more of the design. The tele is a looker, for sure. And both sound really good. I may have to start coveting Fireflys again! Cheers, Brian
