5 Vintage / Used Guitar Amps That are A Good Value in 2025
Today we’re going to be checking out 5 vintage guitar amps and used amps that are a good value in 2025! It’s no surprise I love tube amps and I think these are all awesome AND attainable. Vintage Fender Bassman or vintage Fender Twin Reverb amps and the Gibson Skylark can be found for not too much. We’ll also talk about some more modern classics like the Marshall JCM 800 and the Peavey 5150 / Peavey 6505. I’ll do some demos and we’ll chat it up! What are your thoughts?

Like that LP Special. The 2 pc bridge ones are harder to find.
To me, the best 1960's blackface bargain is without-a-doubt, the Pro Reverb. These amps are 35 to 40 watts, have nice head room and break-up beautifully. Why they are being overlooked is beyond me.
I have a 77 Silverface Twin Reverb with orange framed JBL's. It has the most beautiful clean tone I've ever heard. You mentioned that Twin's have a lot of headroom and don't break-up, but you didn't mention how great they are as a pedal platform.
They ARE heavy amps, especially if you have JBL's, but mine came stock with casters, so until you get to staircases or doorways, you can roll them to where you are going.

i have a '77 twin i inherited and the sheer volume is insane. if you use pedals for gain its a no brainer
Value? JMP and JCM 800's are an arm and a leg on the vintage market nowadays ????
The new Fender Bass Breaker sounds great as well
I love my Silvertone 1484. It’s in fantastic condition and everything including the reverb works great. They’re still available at decent prices.
'65 was a great year for Fender. I had 2 '65 Bassman 50's with the 2X12 tilt back cabinets. Can't be beat for guitar. I love when you jump the channels and crank them. When you hit a power chord, the 6L6GC's light up with blue flames. I now have 1976 Marshal JMP MkII Master Model Lead 100w Model 2203's with 1960A cabinets. I can still hear those Bassmans in the back of my mind.
i just fixed up ampeg R-12 rocket from the 60's i think that sounds great. my dad got it from one of his friends. i also have a kalamazoo model 2 that i got a garage sale for 15 bucks a decade ago thats great for practicing. can really crank it and not shake the walls of ur house like bigger amps to get them sounding the best. a amp i used to have along time ago that i want another one is a carvin xv-212. that thing would shake the walls for sure lol

The reason these are good value is because nobody wants them anymore. These won’t be good value when you want to sell them

I was just laughing thinking if you played that riff on the 6505 say with the pre turned up and a little bit of volume That thing would have ripped your head off and the microphone you were using lol???? Peavey USA is some good quality stuff for great prices, See them all the time in the used market. Good show would like to see another one like this where you go through each amp and we can hear the differences with the same guitar Maybe with your top 10? Thanks Alex ????
Nice, I've got an early '64 6G6-B "Tuxedo" Bassman. Fantastic amp, but I truly miss the '61 6G6 (tube rectified and Tonering cab) I sold a few years back.
