Interesting my c1 exotic came with sky high action
Higgily Piggily! I’m using that one ! HA ! — good to hear, I’ve looked at this gtr in the past, it’s a shame so many shops don’t setup/check their stock anymore – back in the day you cld pull any guitar off rack at East Coast Music Mall and go right to the gig. The fret sprout you spoke of may be the neck was still drying out and it could happen several times over months. Some light sanding can tackle that if you know what you’re doing. What’s most concerning about these issues is for the new novice player that wouldn’t have known it needed fret level, re-crown, fret edge treatment, setup, etc and just suffered through it — seems like this wld be a good candidate for plek treatment putting it around $1,200 as the retail price leaves some room to get it to top notch quality.
You said so many words that I didn't understand the translation. Is the volume control too close or too far? Is it in the way of your little finger?
Great Review. Does the wilkinson bridge hold tuning well when doing dive bombs?
i just got a sunset 6 and was advertised as excellent condition. WRONG…..once i went to change out the strings, the nut fell off, frets towards the neck are sharp. Must be the factory and lack of giving a shit…..funny, Schecters are suppose to be high end.
Mine was absolutely perfect across the board when I received it a couple years ago, that's unfortunate that it showed up in such shape. I love mine!
I bought the epiphone 1959 and it was a disaster. the action is high af, there were high frets, 1 tuner was cracked. it wish i didn't bought it. but now I got it fixd and its nice
I had this same guitar. Mine didn’t have the fret issue but mine was also set up pretty bad. The bridge was too high and the neck wasn’t set up well. After setting it up it was awesome. The neck was my fav part for me.
Mine was set up perfectly. I didnt care for the bridge pick up. Replaced with a duncan JB. It is a giant slayer now !
I got this schecter yesterday, I noticed that you haven't got trem arm in, have you noticed tuning issues with your one, with trem use as mine is really really bad with moderate use. Thanks
Great review! One question: Isn't the volume knob in the same position as on the Squier behind you?
I've owned and still own quite a few Schecters and i'd say you got a rare guitar that maybe the normal quality control guy was on vacation or called in sick or maybe it was a new hire trainee that passed this guitar through. No doubt the guitar shop that received and resold the guitar should have dressed the guitar up to make it playable before selling it. I bought then sold a Silvertone Westbury guitar for the volume knob being too far forward. Kept hitting my pinky on it when strumming , drove me nuts.
Thank you for posting a review of this guitar! It has been at the top of my list for about a year.
