This is a very gently and barely used Santa Cruz Style 1 guitar, made with Santa Cruz’s rare “Lost Tunnel” redwood used for the soundboard. This wood was salvaged from old growth redwood beams in an old discarded train tunnel. Imagine the vibrations from passing trains ageing that redwood over many years. It makes for a wonderful tone wood! Paired with a Honduran Mahogany body, this guitar is so sweet sounding! It has many other customizations as well: adirondack bracing attached with hot hide glue, a rosette made with blue paua, bindings made with snakewood. The neck has been shaped to make it a bit thinner, easing playability. The string spacing is a generous 2 5/16″, which makes it a great fingerstyle instrument.
