I fell asleep to this vid halfway thru ???????? fkn Ler yapping about the whole time, I thought I was the one interviewing him not understanding a single word.
This guy can go from thrash to whatever it is you call Primus. He's just gifted and talented.
Wait did his guitar tech used to be Cadavier?
Love Ler.
Ler spoke about losing 40+ guitars in the Palisades fire, I wonder if he also lost his OG lineup of pedals.
ler is perfection..
"We have this song, called Damn Blue Collar Tweakers" Yeah, just some random song, no bug deal. Have you heard of it? Lol. Dude is an absolute legend. Possibly the most underrated guitarist ever.
Love the Fender high gloss maple necks.
I use a duo sonic with that neck.
I’d even switch those necks to any ol guitar I could find.
They’re the freaking best.
I Like it better than my original esp eclipse with the ebony fretboard.
I thought he used a dod supra on the first album
what was that the interviewer said about Brian Kehoe?? I know who that is…. anyone else?
Such a down to earth dude
Yer
Larry is an awsome guitar player, and the others,Les Claypool and Tim Alexander are awsome as well!
My man Brian Kehoe !!
Ler seems like such a chill, nice fella… And of course is a spectacular geetar player
wow that second pedal, strymon OLA or whatever, instantly pink floyd at pompei ???!!!! shit
@3:08 I thought he was gonna cut into the Knight Rider theme ????
0:22 the I-made-my-guitar-fart face.
1/2 Slash, 1/2 Dimebag waah, leave it on the Dime side!
Primus sucks!
Ler is the mix of a bluegrass player, Robert fripp, and Frank Zappa. Great guitarist.
I don't know how such an absolute GOOBER is also a guitar GOD, but he is
Dude was in possessed so he got a tick in my book
The cherry sunburst is a really good color; the cherry.
I like the HSS Strat in green sparkle that Larry has. Everybody knows I like sparkle. Even gold sparkle or green or silver on sapphire blue. Feels like metallic paint from FolkArt paint tubes by Plaid Enterprises. But n his guitar, it's not quote-unquote "real metallic".
I like the two-point stud-mounted tremolo bridge that Larry has on all of his Fender Strats, but I don use the Floyd Rose at all. Leave the Floyd or double-locking Ibanez bridge business to a tech or a luthier. But that does feel good when doing drop-down dive bombs all day and it won't go out of tune.
The neck profile or "shape" that Larry likes on his American Deluxe Strats are a "medium" which is what he prefers. Not either backwards; fat on one side and shrunk all the way down. Or too thick like a "V"-shape when your thumb hits the back peak of the neck.
The strings that Larry has on his guitars are .009-.046 from Jim Dunlop. He was tens for a long time, but then switched to .009's. Just because he did that to "sound like Jimmy Page".
I like the Fender Stratocasters that Larry brings out with Primus in multiple colors, even his vintage ones that he carries from home in North Cal. That's fucking classic.
legend
One of the most original guitar players I've ever heard. Much respect. Saw you recently in Calgary. Awesome show thank you. And thanks for your Insight. As a musician it is much appreciated
Finally… Took me a long time to find this video, but just wanna say Finally! somebody asks Ler some questions, He is immensely underrated, and every bass players dream is to have a shredder like this man. He thinks outside the box.
coolest guy ever .. I've probably watched this 3-4 times now lol
I sold my Marshall quad and head for $200 to some young kid… lol He was so excited!
<3
I grew up near Altoona!
Pennsylvania tho.
You mean to tell me he not only keeps up with les but he also does it FINGERSTYLE
Larry is a really good guitarist.
@2:40 Song is “Moron TV”
Is the CAE wah available ONLY as a custom order? I know the custom in the nam is in the name of the company, but is there a commercially available CAE Wah?
What a chiken picker…go lalonde
The power supply is heavy because its a linear supply and probably has a huge toroidal coil inside it.
Underrated for sure!
13:35
Ler is criminally underrated!
9:00 I am the sun aaand the air
He was/is the perfect guitarist for Primus. Way underrated and one of my favorite guitarists.
