I hate the 'not' when you should have typed 'knot' thing. Drives me nuts. Just sayin.
if that's all it takes to drive this guy nuts he's in bad shape
Cool
Been doing this since I was 16…you have to 'trust' the winding ????
No need for the OCD knot!!! People want to make everything hard!!! He’s exactly right!!!
I do the same, but without all that winding. Works great
The proper way:
it's the way that works better for you, making it the right way, making it common sense. ????????????????????
Nope. First wind goes over the tail.
I was told to NEVER remove all the strings. One at a time. As far as tying the strings, the wound ones have enough grip. The others, I get slippage unless it's tied. So I gotta disagree here.
Why do people get all bent out out of shape over something so unimportant? I dont care if you just make a loop and hook it around the damn tuning post like a noose. If you can tune it that way, it stays in tune and you like it, who tf cares. I do actually do it the way he does though lol. I wouldnt care at all if i saw some else do it differently. None of that sh!t matters. Just get the damn thing in the tuning you like and you good ????
It's called a luthier's knot
Edit: and he did it backwards
There’s a hole on the tuning post? ????
The only correct way to string a Gibson is to remove the strings and put them on another guitar. Only then will the Gibson stay in tune.
Well…this would've helped about an hour ago when I restrung my acoustic lmao
The knot at the tuner is only needed on nylon strings.
i just changed strings for my first time ever, I have like 2 of those lmao ????????
I always swap out one at a time starting from the middle
Everyone has an opinion. Your opinion doesn't make you right or wrong all of the time, it just makes you a negative person.
You know “That”.
I used to do the gibson knot till one day I restrung a 12 string and one of thicker strings snapped on first tuning ????♂️ lesson learned the hard way
Learned this simple way when I was 10 in 73 by a veteran jazz player and teacher. Never once failed me on the thousands of sets of strings I’ve gone through all these years.
Only difference is I grab the string and press down after the nut on the fretboard to hold it tight as it wraps
If hes a pro, why does he clip all 6 strings at the same time. Dumb. Unless it was intentional to be comment bait on a video about things not to do
Uh no
Why u cut the strings off like that, ruining the neck.
This is really helpful. Thank you!
Grouchy Luthiers is a thing.
Same way I do it
