Definitely doesn't sound the same.. instantly noticed far less hi frequencies going into the front of the amp. Very surprised I actually preferred it that way.
Get some tape over that hole before the spiders and fluff move in.

My Fender blues deluxe reissue has a spring reverb that sounds like that I love it. The best part is the flexibility. It can be minimal and subtle or it can be extreme like that.
