Marín—often called the godfather of the Granada school—has shaped generations of luthiers and built guitars for many of the world’s great players. This example, built during his golden period, features a spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and that instantly recognizable Marín rosette mirrored on the tie block.
What surprised me most is how even and sustaining every note is, all the way up the neck—rare even among the best. It’s lush and peaceful when played delicately, yet full of power and bite when pushed—exactly what I think of as the Spanish sound.

Yes that is a fabulous-sounding guitar. It forwards the art of the early 20th-century guitar rather than compromising that identity for the sake of modern false idols.
What I hear is a high pitch superimposed on the base when played loud closer to the bridge. Reminds me of that flamenco sound. That’s what I love about its sound. Seems like it doesn’t take much to get it going, i.e., real responsive.
Tell me about the strings for this guitat Hard,medium tension etc
Together with Manuel Lopez Bellido he founded the Granada school!
I have a 1983 Bouchetmodel from Bellido father that sounds very similar. Magical and better with a bit rounder nails.
