Missing Link Audio Peacock Germanium Overdrive (Limited Edition) Pedal Review

This is a full review of the Missing Link Audio Peacock Limited Edition Germanium Overdrive Pedal. This is one of the best-sounding Les Paul pedals of all time!
Check it out here – https://www.mlapedals.com/
The MLA Peacock Limited edition Germanium overdrive is heavily inspired by the tones of Duane Allman/Allman Brothers. This single overdrive pedal has more than enough gain to please rockin’ roadhouse blues and southern rock players.

  • I Ordered the big kahuna pedal on 4-13-25 from missing link audio, waited a wk and called them, they told me it was shipping that wkend or earlier the following wk, well that came and went wth nothing happening, called again,  got told it was literally on the table and would be tht wkend or following wk, that didn't happen so I emailed them, got told it was in the nxt batch and would ship tht wkend or early following wk, tht didn't happen, called again and got told the same BS as normal and yeah it didn't happen so my voicemails and emails started getting a bit angrier u could say and at tht time they stopped responding entirely, then they respond one day in email saying they had construction going on and messed up their phones & emails (probably bs) but they would be shipping out my pedal AND a partial refund tht wkend or earlier following wk, yep it didn't happen,  now we're past 2 months in and im starting to think I've bn ripped off $150 , still numerous calls and emails go unanswered,  then I see a shipping update,  they created a label so I thought cool at least thats happening..nope, label created on 19th and today is 28th of June,  still haven't delivered package to USPS,  probably created it to buy time and shut me up , I still call and leave messages and emails and both go unanswered,  its bn 79 days now and im thinking I've bn ripped off for sure,  no pedal,  no partial refund like promised and no response at alll from these ppl, sux they do business like this because I was truly looking forward to this stupid pedal but now I guess I have to seek legal advice instead, I get these are hand made pedals that take a lil time but all the BS and blowing smoke up my ass for 2 months and then totally not responding for wks aftr that, yeah not good business so by pass these ppl , its been a complete nightmare dealing wth their BS

  • I love MLA .. Their pedals are far above most companies offerings and give you the sound that they promise !! ????????
! Here’s a Huge problem with this Demo… How can you Demo a Rolls Royce pedal using a PRS ( even with MLS pickups) ! , a LP is needed. PRS guitars are the “ COLDEST”???? sounding guitars in the world!!! ????????????????
    They’ll make your nads shatter!

Before any of you PRS Groupies get bent out of shape, I will say that they make the best Quality guitars being mass produced. Their quality is second to none.! I’ve owned custom 24’s 22’s and single cuts. I wanted to like them, they’re beautiful. Why does their sound have no personality????? If Paul could fix this, he’d take over the guitar biz.
I’ve talked to Paul over the phone, but he doesn’t think that they sound cold. So I guess, he’s happy with what he hears and that will never change.

  • I dig your videos! A suggestion: I've seen others use a looper, which allows them to change pedal settings on-the-fly while the looper is playing. When I'm experimenting with a new pedal I use that method. I find it easier to find the sweet spots when I don't need to stop playing. Thanks! Frank

  • On Mya 20, 2022 I placed an order for the Terminator pedal from Missing Links audio. The site stated 2 to 3 weeks to build and ship. After 5 weeks(June 23,2022) with no pedal received I contact MLA and spoke to someone who stated that the following week the pedal would be shipped and to watch for a email with a tracking number. Later that day I received an email stating that my order was now at “In process” status.  Then on July 1, 2022 with still no email with tracking number being received, I sent an email saying I wanted my order cancelled and my money returned. I received an email later that day stating that my order was now “cancelled” but no refund was issued. As of July 7,2022 no refund as been issued. I have made contact with MLA with over a 1/2 dozen emails and voice messages asking when I would receive my refund or at least for him to contact me and explain what was going on. I even contact PayPal and had them to ask for my refund. No response at all to anything.

At this point I guess I have to consider that I my $179.98 as has been stolen. I filed a dispute my Credit card company. I was told it could take months to resolve. Yesterday I made contact with the Pendergrass Georgia  Police Dept. and the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) I also have figured out how to file a complaint with the FTC( Federal Trade Commission) and will doing so later today.

  • After watching a half-dozen reviews, EdA1 is the only one to actually get a Duane Allman tone out of it. Most of my life was spent in southern rock and blues, and this pedal just sounds like another overdrive, other than in the EdA1 video. But he used 1953/1957 conversion Les Paul goldtop, with vintage PAFs, Tech 21 Trademark 60 amp, JBL D120. The guitar and speaker being the two major contributors there.

  • This pedal maybe useful in some small way. You'd have a better chance plugged in to a blues Junior cranked to achieve a close to Duanne tone. The rest is in the hands

  • It kinda just sounded like I would expect a good amp to sound like turned up a little. I don't think you really need this pedal to achieve this sound. Great playing though!

  • Where to get a big bottle of Shane Diiorio magical music elixir at, then any gear I play on will be awesome too!

  • After watching both reviews of the MLA Peacocks, I ordered the original this past week. It's got that southern rock sound that is missing from my board. I'm interested to hear how it sounds with my brand new (waited over 2 months for it) Squier 60's Esquire. Thanks for great reviews Shane. I really enjoy what you do.

  • Shane, I love your video and this pedal sounds great along with your guitars. But I just looked at this on the vendors website and they claim they’re only gonna make 100 of these and that’s it. ??? OK, if that’s how they want it.
Sorry man, I just lost interest in this pedal and I couldn’t finish your video.

  • For a practice amp it’s too pricey for me.
I appreciate the amp was hand wired but why can’t fender make a good affordable amp like Marshall and Vox 5w amps.

  • Pendergrass Georgia… not from there but close! Know it well. Well, not much to know ????????????

  • Speaking of Southern Blues Rock – has anyone thought of naming a Cranked Tweed inna-box pedal the "Tweedy Bird"?

Hey wait…patent pending! Copyright! I take it back!
Nah JK I can't make pedals. Someone make one called The Tweedy Bird and a dual called "Tweedy and Sylvester".
One mode could be called "Succotash" Yeah?

Probably get a cease and desist. Or sued.

  • Shane: I have to Thank You!!! I pulled a Mustang II out of the closet and checked the known problem of
the input connector PCB having broke S joints. It did. Fixed. Sounds great. Put the new EH 75 in it and
it, again it sounds great. Went to your site and down loaded Fdr Fuse…along with YOUR presets. Amazing
Shane… With the fix and your presets this closet door stopper has now been promoted to the studio
with the known quality amps. Your presets are darn good. Not the normal OD garbage lost in a concert
hall of bottomless reverb!! Your BP AC30 shocked me. Really impressed. But whats new. Thank You

  • This pedal is JUST a Zendrive with switchable tone caps! Nothing more, nothing less. I too, was intrigued with this pedal, and after doing as much research on it as I could, I found the EXACT veto board layout that was used for the Peacock drive. And, it is a Zendrive.

  • Is it a coincidence your PRS also has MLA Peacock humbuckers? Great sounding pedal.

  • Missing Link Audio has a bundle going right now with their Humbuckers and the Peacock Overdrive. I think they even include a few picks.
