This might be my favorite Reverend Guitar.

Today I do a full review of the Reverend Jetstream 290… with a bigsby! This is a super rad guitar and I’m so grateful @zZoundsMusic let me borrow it and brands like @Reverend.Guitars aren’t afraid to be creative with their designs.

AUDIO NOTES – Combining a set of P90’s with the Marshall was always going to be noisier than normal, but it’s a solid trade off for the tones when you are actually playing. All clips that aren’t jumped were on the normal channel of the Marshall.

  • Great video man. Really enjoy your playing and analysis. Would love to see you check out more Reverends! The Jetstream 390 would be an interesting comparison to the 290. I imagine the third pickup really throws some new possibilities into the mix!

  • Once again a cool video on a Reverend, good job Jim! The Reverend Bigsby spring is a godsend for any guitar with a Bigsby, so smooth and always returns. I have one on my Gibson 50's P-90 Standard and it makes that guitar so nice to play!

  • It is very cool and sound good! The peoples complain they want fresh design idea from brands, then complain when guitar isn't Les Paul stratocaster or telecaster shapes.

  • Enjoyed the video. Looks like a really interesting guitar. The Bigsby is cool, nice to see you focus on it. Would love to compare it to some of the Rivolta models. How is the body size compared to a Jazzmaster?

  • I’ve played two Reverends with trems and they both stayed in tune perfectly and played great. They have some of the best setups in the business and many other companies could learn from them!

  • For anyone curious about the Bigsby: I'm not 100% sure about this, but Reverend sells a "Soft Touch" Spring." The purpose of it is to imitate a worn in Bigsby and it does exactly what Jim likes about the Bigsby on the reverend. I think they might be using that. You can find it on sweetwater.

  • I bought a charger 290 a few years ago, but I had to return it because the bridge pickup was too far from the bridge, which robs it of twang and bite. They do that with all of their guitars, and it drives me up the wall. If you look at this one a whole p90 would almost fit between the bridge and bridge pickup.

  • If Reverend ever made a guitar that wasn't incredibly ugly I would buy one, but for some reason they just won't do it. They sound great, fit, finish, and build quality are great, but the aesthetics are just way too offputting across all models I've seen. I won't even bother to comment on the headstock design, you all have eyes of your own.

  • Another really cool looking guitar! Especially loved the neck pickup on this one, the bitey aggression of the bridge was cool on the dirtier tones but the neck surprised me (at least through YT on video) and had a really nice rounded tone without losing clarity – enjoyed that a lot!
That bass contour is also a great feature and I’m glad you put the text up saying you hadn’t engaged a drive pedal as I’d have definitely assumed you had!!!

Hope you’re well mate! Fantastic as ever ????
