American master luthier Scott Lewis, with decades of experience, manages the plant alongside American builders. �Workforce DetailsThe facility employs around 550 workers, with about 450 in direct labor, including Asian luthiers who collaborate with the American team. I will never quite understand the mythology and fascination built up around the nitrocellulose finish. It is quite possibly the worst choice for a long lasting finish. In the 50s and 60s, there were not many choices, and lacquer was and still is very easy and extremely forgiving to work with. With that said, there are far better options now. Nitro can look good though, don't get me wrong.
Expensive epiphone or cheap Gibson?
I love these guitars but in a real world they’re all 1000 bucks too much ..
I know it’s not typically available through Zzounds, but I’d love to see a buyers guide to shopping for a used Gibson LP. Something like what to avoid, what to look for, how to get the best bang for your buck, etc.
