what’s the piece called?
CEDAR TEAM
This man could play a tennis racket and it would brings tears to your eyes. Bravo!
Ceder sounds better
Spruce has a brighter sound, while cedar has a sweeter sound. I would like to hear the difference between Canadian spruce and German spruce.
Cedar sounds better and looks better.
Spruce is brighter
Cedar is warmer
Spruce for contrast, color and complexity. Cedar, if one is too lazy to practice and polish nails.
Cedar!
Yes what you like better, I’m getting a guitar made can’t decide what top.
I have the spruce one and I defy anyone to find a better guitar for under $1000. In fact, it could go head to head with some guitars that cost $1000 or more of other brands. I play Jazz, Classical and classic video game music on mine.
Cedar: You have to fight to bring out the sound. For experts.
Spruce: More colorful, more versatile, more open and expressive, even if it may not seem so.
Cedar
I have 3 cedar ????
Spruce seems more crisp. Cedar more warm. It's as though the color of the wood is the determining factor…????
Yes the spruce is bright and crisp with some warmth. Cedar is warm and rich.
For classical guitar I like cedar. But who would want a cedar dreadnaught.
Spruce is brighter and has more clarity. The cedar is warm and luscious. Both beautiful voices.
Cedar is darker & mellower, whereas the Spruce seems to have more high harmonics & a glassier tone.
my speakers 🙁 I can't tell
I wonder if playing without nails on a spruce top would dampen some of the brightness allowing it to sound closer to a Ceder top? Does anyone here know the answer?
Spruce is typically brighter and dynamic. I’d put it as the ideal choice for Baroque music. Cedar is warmer with a bit more character. I’d put it as the ideal choice for Romantic music. I have a spruce top but I’d love to have a cedar.
