Gibson & Martin Guitars BOTH Have The Same Problem
Have you ever picked up a brand new guitar, and just didn’t jive with the way it plays? It could be as simple as the guitar strings that it came with! Beginner guitarists probably would be surprised to learn that it is pretty standard practice to change the strings on new guitars, even if the guitar is literally brand new.

Martin Retro Tony's Choice strings , D-16GT.
Elixirs are nice but have you tried flatwounds, or does elixir make flatwounds? I want to try them out again.

it kinda sounds like this particular video was made for clicks and likes, gibsons ship with their own branded strings which are good but not everyone's preference.
I prefer the sound of an older guitar.. one that's anywhere from 10 years old or older.. the aged wood just seems to sound better.. and i think that they really just begin to hit their stride at about 20 years old.

I have used and still do use Elixirs On some guitars but My go to string for acoustic are Martin Lifespan 2.0 They always sound great on any guitar I have them on..80/20 on some PB on others Its just my favorite strings and the go to strings.And they last a long tome also so what do you do.
If you're new to guitar, you should not be touching Gibson's or Martin's unless it was given to you.
Medium Elixir phosphor bronze strings, tuned down a full step. This lowers the action a bit due to reduced tension, the thicker strings and dropped tuning give it more bass. If you need standard tuning just use a capo, and i'm able to play many songs that are in a dropped tuning.

Flat wound all the way… I cant STAND string talk! Finger Ease can be handy as well. Even has a pleasant scent.
Taylor gs mini with these new Ernie Ball & John Mayer collaboration strings sounds amazing. Playability right up there with elixir and priced decently as well.

Always choose a custom light acoustic set. 11_52ish I just like playing and I can play more with lights . I got get to play often so my hands get soft!
The absolute best combo for me is any of my Gibson Acoustics with fresh Elixars!! Both Gibson Acoustics and Elixar strings have been my only choice since about 2012.. ????
I’ve had about 4 new acoustics in the last two years, none came with good sounding strings. Switched to my 80/20 bronze dad strings and love them all.
