My first guitar was a Guild Mark I. It was around 1960, serial # 17638.
I still have her, and getting new strings today!
Love me New Hartford Guilds. I have an F 30 Std. Basically, the 2011 version of the first guitar you play here.
My dad passed and left me a Guild AD301658 in mint condition with a zebra looking back and neck. AI says it's a 1982 Guild AD but not sure. I put new strings on it and the sound is seriously mind blowing. It's kind of difficult for me to find information on this guitar. There's a receipt in the guitar case from 1996 for $900 and that's all I really know about it. Not a lot of info on the AD models.
For a large part of my life (im 62) Guild was the ONLY guitar for me. Once the westerly plant closed and the became part of fender I gave up on them. they sound horrible, quality is bad. Now they have been through several owners and I'm sorry they may "say Guild" on them but they are a "Guild in name only" A 70's Guild F512XL was a thing of beauty in all respects. What is being mad today is JUNK
What was wrong with the new Yamaha owned Guilds?
Ren Ferguson!!!
