Being for 7 years a student at Mozarteum in Salzburg, even though I am a pianist, it was just great to be in the condition to open a door and sit as a listener during the magnificent lessons of Prof. Fisk; I did it plenty of times and learned a lot, somehow closing a circle as he once observed while witness how constant my presence was: he himself, told us, took lessons from great musicians as Arrau, even though they didn't play the guitar at all. But music goes far beyond the instruments it's been conceived for. And for me those lessons with Prof. Fisk are still nowadays a relevant part of my personal capital. Once he gave me the true honour of first-sighting my Sonatina for solo guitar, and praised it, while being happy that a pianist would take some time to write for the guitar ❤
My brother is a professional violinist. Fisk is the only non violinist who made him cry with his interpretation of the chaconne. Hearing it live in concert my brother burst in to tears half way through. Not tears of joy or sadness because it was so moving. But tears of pure fury and frustration because the interpretation and playing was so bad.
Thank you for this, I have been studying this piece and now I am rethinking my other Bach pieces.

Boy if that's not Elliot Fisk in nutshell…mistake/sloppy note…odd volume control issues…mistake/missed note…mistake/again really? followed by a broad knowledge of Baroque music
He recorded some great music 30 years ago in studio settings-had the cd's. He really shouldn't play in live in front of an audience

Great way to give Forward Motion to your playing. Jazz pianist Hal Galper wrote a book by the that name. It is a classical approach to playing that can lend momentum and build continuity in your playing. Also aids memorisation in that you are always playing toward somewhere. Thank you for this lesson. ????
