  • To be fair so some fat cat doesn’t end up with it a lottery should be set up and sell tickets until the amount is raised . Then when they draw my name I’ll let Damian play it on a video !!

  • Even if I was a zillionaire I’d never pay big money for a guitar owned by somebody famous.

  • Sh-t..man someone stole this guitar right off the stage & nearly destroyed the the man ! He was never the same after that . How could somebody rip the heart out of a true legend and then turn around and try to sell his prized guitar for 2 million dollars ???? everybody knows it's T-Bone Walkers guitar and everybody knows it's been stolen so it rightfully belongs back to the family

  • If TBone has any living family they should absolutely be challenging for rightful ownership , especially since the current owner seems to have proof it was actually TBone's guitar .

  • For a laminated guitar this was strangely sought after. But it bugs me that Gibson doesn't even make hollow body guitars any more which is a great pity …

  • there is no "statute of limitations" on doing the right thing.
selling someone else's property w/o their permission makes them the 2nd or 3rd or 4th thief in this story

  • Seems wrong that someone is trying to profit from a stolen instrument. It belings to the family or in a museum.

  • Damian, I agree with you that, if the guitar is authentic, that it should have been returned to the Walker family. That's absolutely the right thing to do, and I'm glad to hear that they will receive some of the proceeds from the sale. If I had the means to buy such an instrument I would want to hire a private investigator to track the provenance of the guitar to try to figure out what happened to it and how it resurfaced. The individual who walked in off the street with it must have some connection to its whereabouts over the decades, even if only tangentially. And, I also agree with you that outside of the Walker family's possession, the rightful place for such an instrument is in a museum or on loan to various musicians. I think that the guitar shop that bought Steve Jones' Les Paul Custom that he used in the Sex Pistols now loans it out to different musicians so they can play it on tour and in the studio. I'd hope to see something similar happen to T-Bone's guitar.

  • Does it come with a case? 'Cuz if it's a gig bag, I'm out. Seriously, though, it should go back to the family.

  • Whoa! a piece of history for sure. I wish it could go back to his family so they could determine what to do with it. I'd hope it finds it's way to a museum.
Also! Love the Shogun Warriors, Godzilla and Voltron collection you got going there, Damian! I had a full size Daimyo, Mazinga(er), Raiden and a Godzilla when I was a kid. They were awesome! Cool to see you keeping a collection going!

  • I agree it should have been returned to the family especially since the owner the guitar has been involved in a law suit against apple for steeling his technology. The irony is crazy.
