Philip Woodfield 2010 Classical Guitar Review | GuitarCollection.com

One of, if not the finest Philip Woodfield guitar I’ve come across. This one was played by a professional for many years and has the open sound and scars to prove it!

What strikes me about Woodfield guitars is how easy it is to manipulate the tone, whether thats through vibrato, or through the vast palette of colors that this guitar allows you to explore.

This Grand Concert model is fantastic – the raised fingerboard only on the side where your left hand needs is a genius idea that is oh-so comfortable.

These continue to be some of my favorite guitars to come across – they are music making machines.

  • Fascinating raised fingerboard design! First time I saw something like this. The sound board is not symmetrically bent, I suppose it would introduce some unnecessary stress if it's made by anyone not a master luthier, but obviously it works perfectly fine here.

  • Guitar sounds very good and your playing enhances the sound!! Did Humphries papen his design—this guitar seems to be in that style?

  • Maybe I wasn’t paying close enough attention, but would love some lingering footage of the rosettes on these and bridge ornaments if present
