Outkast is literally in the RnRHoF while pioneers like him aren't
Frank Zappa was my introduction to this legend.
That leather suit is some of the most player shit ive ever seen
African Americans have been behind many of the greatest contributions to music. Crazy how the only way I'd ever heard of Johnny Guitar before this was New Vegas Radio
Catch that riff from Dragnet
Why is my screen BLACKED OUT?????????
Crucify me but it gives punk precursor
I'm thinking the only reason this didn't succeed was because racist people (which was the majority in America back in the day) didn't want to buy a black guitarist's songs.
I believe this guy worked with Frank zappa at one point and that zappa was a huge fan. And that guitar watson was a huge influence on zappa. That tells you all you need to know, this man was highly influencial and inspired sone of the most creative avant-garde music to come from the rock and roll era. Zappa was incredible, and I'm not sure what period or which albums watson played on, but I'm going to have to find out and have a listen, right now.
Smokin!!!!!
My favorite song by Johnny Guitar Watson is……Ain't That a B_tch.
The foundational black American was robbed of his genrationsl wealth by the American Jews in the entertainment industry ????
He played with Frank Zappa, isn't it?
This could've been on a Rolling Stones album in 1964 as an instrumental kinda like 2120 South Michigan Ave.
Wow…
Duane Eddy predates Johnny Watson
He inspired frank zappa
Is this Johnny Guitar?
????????????????
Space guitar makes everything the British invasion did irrelevant until MAYBE Yardbirds in 1966 freaking 14 years later
Hendrix was obsessed with this record. A huge inspiration.
The world owes Mr Watson many kudos for that alone!
He was Frank Zappas biggest influence on guitar too I believe.
Johnny Watson should never be forgotten. He was the pioneer of Hard Rock! Never heard of him until now in 2025.
Frank Zappa was a big fan.
"Being right too early is indistinguishable from being wrong"
When rock n roll became rock.
A real mother for us ! One of the authentic Ateamers !!!
Early Jimi Hendrix
Records that never made the charts, never played on the radio, or were never heard by 99.999999% of the population for $1,000, Alex. There were hundreds of far out records made back in the 40s and 50s by independent record companies. This was the era when we had more than just RCA, Columbia, Mercury, and Decca.
Two question marks is absolutely brilliant. Really messed with their heads ????
And it contains “Danger Ahead”, which has a fascinating history of its own, from 1946’s The Killers to Dragnet (1953) to Donkey Kong (1981).
LEGENDARY ????????
Sounds amazing for 1954
Please where did you find the picture of him on the car? For… Reasons

Well ain't that " A Real Mutha For Ya
Even in 1967 reviewers simply didn't understand Rock music. I remember a Review of Jimi Hendrix first album where the reviewer thought the album was just a lot of loud noise and suggested the musicians should stick their hair in their ears. Looking back he looks rather stupid.
67?
The magic of placing a white boy in the cover during those times was priceless.
Johnny was one of Frank Zappa's favourite inspirations. ????
