Here are 3 signs you are on track learning Jazz Guitar.
1️⃣Listen
Jazz is a language, and to sound like Jazz, you need to listen to it and get the phrasing, melodies, and rhythms into your system.
2️⃣ Songs
If you want to play Jazz, you also need to play Jazz songs. That is the final goal you want to achieve, so you want to have that at the center of your practice.
3️⃣ Skills
To help you improve at playing songs, you need to work on scales, chords, and arpeggios, create great phrases, and learn solos by ear. But to be efficient, you should ALWAYS link it to the songs you play.

One important advice, continuing the advice of listening (which seems even more obvious) – you should enjoy hearing jazz, and you better be inspired by jazz that you love. For example, if you don't actually enjoy "Giant Steps", learning it would be similar to studying for an exam. In general, the academies made jazz into a technical chore, you should ditch this attitude, if possible, and develop a taste for the actual music, not just the theory.

Great tips Jens. I remember transcribing the piano on Georgia On My Mind (Oscar P version), took me a week, I must have listened to that song 500 times. But the amount I learnt about jazz in terms of chords, phrasing, etc was just incredible. Great advice – listening to jazz is a game changer

i ll be contrarian: listen to jazz guitar. You're a guitar player, listen to your instrument first and foremost.
You only talk and just want people to spend money on you.
I’d say picking technique. I’ve been struggling mightily with that. The other stuff isn’t too hard to understand, but sweeping a triplet with knowing how is tough (for example).

When harmonic analysis becomes your hobby, you’ve made the transition from rock to jazz.
This is very good advice, you cant learn any language if you don't hear it in use. Jazz is creative, so not actually listening to what you want to pay reduces it to theoretical stuff.
