I like to play C using the Bb shape at the third fret.
Chord voices dude we need them so telling people 1 way is best and the others are not is wrong is total just because you cant do something or what you play does not require does not mean other ways are wrong we need all the voices we can get other wise stuff dont work right. there are over 30,000 chords no one knows them all but we need to know as many as we can jam into our head and we have to make sure that what we use works for all music we play..
I always play a C/G. I think it sounds nicer than a standard C, and it was good enough for David Bowie and so it is good enough for me LOL.
I am trying to only strum the right strings but I miss a lot and hit the 6th string accidentally. It is hard to miss that 6th string.
I like to use the 5 string version most of the time, but will drop my third finger to the G on the 6th string for the root/5 alternating base and walking bass lines. I generally dont like to use my pinky and third finger to cover both the 5th and 6th strings at the same time. I find it easier to add movement to the chord when I have fewer fingers already anchored down for the base chord. That's where the 1-3 really shines and the 1-4 is a jack of all trades that really helps if you are throwing in the flattened 6th or doing a boogie woogie bass.
I sure hope everyone likes this C Chord video, I hope it helps a lot of Guitarists out.
