Here’s a quick video tour of some of my favorite Strat tones.
My friend Joey Brasler joined up with Fender not too long ago, as vice president of product development.
Joey and I started playing guitar together on gigs in the 80s, we’ve been friends for over 30 years and he is still a great great guitar player.
He loaned me a new Fender Stratocaster, from a series called American Professional.. I used it to make a video demonstrating some of my favorite Strat tones… and also some of the cool things about this guitar.

A Squier CV 50 or 60 built from 2021 on for $400 will get you all of this.
they all sound like shit !
What is the fuzz pedal used @0:19? Love the tone
The only bothersome thing about the Strat is that, whenever I want to buy a new guitar, I can't find a reason to pick up anything else. They do everything. In most cases, they do the thing another guitar is supposed to specialize for better than that guitar.
Are you pro changing pickups on strats or guitars or keeping them stock ?
“Five favorite strat tones”
Me looking at my strat:
“Huh weird there are five pickup switch positions “
What would be the best ways to help get a way huge Jimi-SRV type tones. I got the Strat, Fender and Marshall amps, Fuzz face and TS-9. What about pedals that have tubes in them, Would that help at all, or not? I am not talking about the fuzzy tones, more like the way huge howling singing super heavy bluesy tones, that were used mostly
“I always choose the neck pickup first” I think I might get that tattoo!
Loved the U2 sound early into the video. Could also get the The Cult sound out of it.
Great video and fantastic playing, thank you for this!
Wow! What a control center you've built around yourself!!
All of a sudden, someone walks in the room and takes a dump on the guitar players legs, than casually walks off.
3:11 Don't Make Promises
Holy CRAP???? those were all so awesome
5:38 "and she's riding a surf board to heaven…"
I live on the neck pickup with occasional bits of neck and bridge (gilmour switch to engage the bridge in any setting).
Love those U2 sounds!!
Could you please make a video on how to setup an amp for that sound?
Nice Guitar ❤????
what a beautiful guitar!
What song is the u2 sounding riff from? Thanks!
was that bit of day tripper in there at 5.55
And then there’s G&L S-500… ❤️????????????????????????????
Gorgeous tones!! As always, sensational playing!! That guitar sounds amazing!!!
Great video,… nice guitar and interpretation!????????
